Virgin are being sneaky with Iplayer. Can't stream Dragons Den in high-def even though I should have the speed to be able to, but I can download the whole 60-minute program in 15 minutes if I use the desktop player.

Oh and streaming HD works fine after midnight, for some reason.

To be fair to them I never had a problem with them until I wanted to leave.

It's my own stupid fault for trying to cut myself using the website - I should have realised that I would get my fingers burned when I saw that you don't get any sort of confirmation that you've sent them a message

Seriously considering paying the 70 quid to AOL to finish my contract with them.

Seriously getting fucked off with there half service, extra slow package.

Kokopops - my connection is still shit.

When I quit at the end of the month the drop in revenus will result in one of your seventeen beanbags being taken away. Hop to it.

My ISP has just rang me to offer me a loyalty bonus, first they offered me £2 off my existing monthly, then £2 plus 7 days a week free calls local and national 24hours a day, then when i mentioned (blaggingly) that i was thinking of joining someone else, they offered me £8 off my monthly fee, so now i pay £6.99 a month for upto 8MB of which i get about 4.5MB. And heres the cherry on top of the cherry cake, i asked them if i can upgrade for a better speed, they said they will have a look at upgrading me for free. The only catch is that i have to stay with them for 12months, nay problemo. A saving of £96 per year. The milky bars are on me!

Makes you wonder how an ISP can charge £7 a month for upto 8MB's, doesn't it? Are the government about to introduce that 50p a month service?

I know a few months ago DavieG did a poll/questionaire on what Broadband company people use and what they thought of it but I can't find it, anyway i'm looking to finally move for AOL (Only took me 5 years ) but not sure who to go with, Virgin look good and i've been told they are good but perhaps abit pricey - but you get what you pay for I suppose, I looked at Sky - Who I was quite tempted with but then got told the modem they provide if you have a problem you have to phone the modem company and that is an expensive helpline, I've been looking at O2 and Orange but read a few reviews and it's not good - but then again if you people have had the odd problem they may just want to give a companies bad names, On review sites you are always going to get more bad things than good - If somethings good you are less likely to be bothered about going to a review site and writing about it than if something bad.

Anyway who has everyone got and would you recommend them?

Had Virgin for just over a month now, and had no problems whatsoever with it

I've got 10MB for £20 p/m, but i think it's cheaper when you don't have the internet exclusive like I do.

I am in a prime Virgin area though, so whether that might be a factor for you I'm not sure.

and in the plus side, if you get Virgin you might get the same installer as me, who was a friend of Joe Mattock!

How big's a 1MB in respect to Broadband speed? Would I notice it alot? Would it be alot faster?

I'm still with AOL but finally actually doing something about it, I am currently on a 8MB package with AOL but in my area can only receive 3.5MB according to a e-mail when I asked them.

I phoned SKY and I can get a 20MB Unlimited package but the fastest speed I can receive in my area is 4.5MB, so 1 MB faster than AOL, would I notice alot of difference, will it be much faster?

As i've said in the past, I know how to use PC's but anything, even the slightest technical thing, not a clue.
