lou Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 How come there isn't a thread? Should be a fun day out, haven't been in a while. Does anybody have more information on it? http://www.leicester.gov.uk/your-council--...ibbean-carnival It usually kicks off from Victoria Park at noon. The best part doesnt start til later on the park though IMO food and music......... BLISS!
Cobbo Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 Getting to the Walkers for 12 shall be made tricky by this wonderful event.
Darkzzz_ Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Just got out of the jungle. Went shopping and it took us 1 hour just to get past Victoria park. Nightmare.
Koke Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Haven't been to this event for several years now. It'll be pouring down with rain, so I gave it a pass. Maybe next year.
Webbo Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Just got back from town. Admittedly not to see the carnival, but it seemed like everybody enjoyed themselves despite the rain. It was fvcking loud though.
Uncle Monty Posted 1 August 2009 Author Posted 1 August 2009 YOu guys didnt enjoy it because you are shitty white boys widout no riddum
Uncle Ben Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Eh, all haters will be shanked innit white bouy. This aint no goat curry situation!
Nick Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 It was rhetorical. You bore me. He bores me too... Well said. I even wrote to the mods some days ago about what I think of him. Here's the letter of complaint: Letter of Complaint, Jul 29 2009, 04:32 PM Hey Davie, and moderating team. Sorry for the music discussion reply to Obewankanobeo, I don't wish to pick arguments but this fella is completely inappropriate as I'm sure mods are aware. I feel that if I do not say something in reference to his agenda which he hides behind his support of an 'official political party' that we as a community and institution of 'foxestalk' are basically allowing institutionalised racism. I believe it positive to challenge prejudice when I see it and the hate peddled in the previous threads should mean that those people are banned. I am truly very angry with these people (champions guy also.) I am white. Imagine how upset foxestalkers who are Jewish or Black took his posts. Do we wait for threads on the 'Baby Squad' to develop and pan out - no, we don't. And I don't wish to wait to act until one of his victims has the courage to complain. It is up to the moderating team now to act, because his user ID and his name when he posts has become a symbol, a symbol that says he is part of the community and is free to post and influence and make friends but his agenda is that 20% of the members on foxestalk of alternate heritages to his own should be treated with inequality. This is not acceptable. Generally we have a good bunch on here, a few kids, a few harmless plonkers and the odd tool that the stronger posters regulate and keep in check. In essence we have a fantastic forum in comparison to other clubs sites, we have little talk of hate, little talk of violence and little talk of prejudice (except maybe with regard to Leicester Tigers whom I also support) and within the narrative and genre of football and its supporters, that's pretty special. And we've all worked hard for this. Kick this guy and his friends, let him know that expressing opinion on this site that has narratives of inequality for groups and individuals is against foxestalk rules. He is welcome to open another account but you suggest that he remains to topics that he can manage to contribute to keeping his political prejudice in check. I find him offensive. His continued presence represents unfairness divide and hate, he should not be allowed to start new threads about radio stations or even the weather like he is part of our community. Ban him now. Yours Respectfully and Faithfully, Nick.
Uncle Monty Posted 2 August 2009 Author Posted 2 August 2009 I'll shank ya man. Don't walk Alone at night

Kobe told straight up that I couldn't attend the demostration on 9th August cos I iz black, but he was nice enough to allow me to "watch from the sidelines" - his words, not mine.
Uncle Ben Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Looks like you've really struck a nerve with this Nick guy, eh monty. I often wonder what sort of person it takes to writes highly strung letters of complaint about really sad things. I imagine this Nick is the kind of guy who thinks they should have Krishnan Guru Murphy and the woman off the BBC news with the glasses presenting Top Gear to stop it being racist, and wants David Jason dead

Uncle Ben Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Haha, that'll teach me to listen to the mad rants of drunk people at 2am then. Sorry nick, I take back my comment of you wanting Del Boy dead.

Do your best to read the names of who it's about. After this look at the subject matter. Read it again. Now ask yourself where the argument was regarding destroying and killing your Anglo Saxon interpreted ideologies of the cultural heritage of Britain via the blanket implementation of extremist positive discrimination. Read it again. It's not there is it. I was simply asking the site not to be used as a platform to allow racists a voice. Nothing more, "Uncle Ben" All the best, Nick.
Uncle Ben Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 As riveting as your rant for great justice/letter no doubt is, I don't think reading three times whilst heavily hungover after a night of revelry to ask my self questions about potential anglophobic assumtions sounds like the most fun thing to do; so hopefully you can take my inebriated post in the light hearted manner it was intended, accept my apology and we can leave it at that. Yours sincerely, Unky B.
