Molson Canadian Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 From the sounds of it seems as if he played a good game today and showed that he can play for the first team... i think he should be kept on even if he is not given a starting role but can be kept as a backup
Molson Canadian Posted 8 May 2005 Author Posted 8 May 2005 He made a excellent save off of Graham Coughlin shot...Hirschfeld then produced a magnificent save to deny Taylor again before half time and the Canadian was also alert to thwart David Norris...Steven Milne and Norris were kept at bay by Hirschfeld in the final 10 minutes...from the sound of things i thought he played a good game...
Matt Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 He sounded poor to me, but obviously I wasn't there... 105124 Same here, without seeing him I can't really comment but I wouldn't be too excited about the prospect of him being our No.1 but until I see him I can't make to much judgement!
Molson Canadian Posted 8 May 2005 Author Posted 8 May 2005 He's not a bad keeper i've seen him play for team canada and he seems to have the skills that would make him a able championship league goal keeper

The people that went today, what did you think of him?

It sounded like he didn't want to catch any crosses, which is something I don't like at all.

The people that went today, what did you think of him? 105136 no no not the hockey team the canadian national soccer team.... yes there is a canadian national soccer team as hard as it may seem to believe... here's his player profile for that national team http://www.canadasoccer.com/eng/nationals/...asp?id=95⊂=3 and yes canadian soccer has produced some good players...
Leicester_Mad Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 wanted to punch everything and his kicking was poor....i thought he looked like a mini version of Kalac scaperinga cross the the goalmouth....
Tomassi Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 Hirschfeld is a nice lad i watched the leeds game with him
Matt Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 Hirschfeld is a nice lad i watched the leeds game with him 105162 I don't care if he is...Its how he plays is what i'm care about! Why/How we're you watching the Leeds game with him anyway?
Scow Posted 8 May 2005 Posted 8 May 2005 He was Ok - As Leicester Mad said, he did elect to punch as opposed to catching the ball on a few occasions. Not a bad reserve 'keeper though - Certainly not good enough to be Number 1.
cono Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 wot do people think about hirschfeld debut? i didn't feel safe with hirschfeld in goal cause he dont like catching the ball in the air he always seems to punch it.

Frenzied Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 I agree with Leicester Mad and Scowy; he seemed ok but some of his kicking was woeful and he did flap at crosses once or twice. Something I did really like though, was the fact that he seemed very eager to throw the ball out quickly rather than hoof it up the pitch.
Guest Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 His kicking was poor in the first half especially, but how much of it was down to the wind, I can't say. He is no better than I've seen all season, but he's certainly not the worst.
pafcfan10 Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 no offence here, but i dont think i have actually seen a worse kicker in this division, even your own fans took the piss outta him once. it seems to me that you need a new keeper for next year.

pafcfan10 Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 yer in fairness he was, but he didnt like to move off his goal line much did he? and if we are honest here it was about 7 bad kicks if you include the one he scuffed and went 3 metres high

I'm just glad he won't be here as number 1 next season - Well, I hope so anyway...
pafcfan10 Posted 9 May 2005 Posted 9 May 2005 on the goalkeeper front we are rather lucky, as we have larrieu sitting in the reserves, i dont really have full trust in luke though, it seems whenever there is a one on one chance for the opposition it ends up being a goal. i thought the shooting was quite poor really yesterday, lets be honest hirschfeld's saves werent the best in the land were they, shame about our newbie summerfield blasting it over at the end, would have made the season so much better if that had gone in, a home park legend's son

Was or wasn't it offside? Couldn't tell from behind the goal but it looked as if he ran from behind the defender.
