Bert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale 7 - Had no chance with either goal. Made a world class save and was generally safe as houses, Neilson 6 - You can't blame the guy for his commitment to the cause, but sometimes he makes something that should be done simple into something that could turn out bad. Powell 8 - What a legend. Didn't put a foot wrong all night, and made 2 goal saving blocks. Tunch 5 - Off the pace, massively. Morrison 5 - Joker. N'Guessan 6 - Hustled and bustled, set up the goal but was very little threat King 5 - Great performance from "The Championships Lampard" NOT. Too slow, and failed to do the simple stuff. Oakley 6 - Looked to set us off on the attack all the time, but either the passes were poor or weren't read. Worked hard. Adams 7 - A great goal, and a fine reward for his start to the season, surely he has to start Monday. Fryatt 6 - Looked very dangerous at times, but still holds onto the ball far too long. Gallagher 6 - Glimpses of what may come were to be seen, but remember guys, he's only been here for 5 days. Dyer - No rating, offered little. Kergomant - Looks good, will be useful when he can find his feet. Dickov - Probably gave away more fouls than anyone during the time he was on, his first two minutes were ok though. We badly missed Wellens bite and incision in midfield tonight, and Brown's organisation at the back.
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale 7 - Made a few good saves. Very confident in the air. No issues here. Neilson 6 - Needs to make decisions more quickly. Powell 7 - Still got it at the ripe old age of 9879834. Tunch 5 - Ouch. Morrison 5 - Never felt at ease with him. N'Guessan 5 - Kept running into trouble and always looked for the more difficult option. King 5 - Was he even playing!? Oakley 4 - Possibly the worst performance I've seen from him. Pass completion stats please!? Adams 7 - Fully deserves a starting place, has been looking very good for a while now. Fryatt 5 - Never really in the game Gallagher 6 - Maybe tries to be too much a fancy dan? Dyer - Barely touched the ball. Kergomant - As above Dickov - Do the honourable thing and feck off!!!!!!!! On Saturday he came on, did a few fouls and managed to get a talking to from the ref. Tonight he came on, managed a few fouls, a talking to from the ref PLUS an added bonus of kicking the ball away despite us losing with 5 minutes left. Waste of space!

Fox in a Box Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale - 7 Powell - 7 Morrison - 6 Tunchev - 6 Neilson - 6 Adams - 8 Oakley - 3 (dreadful) King - 6 N'Guessan - 6 Fryatt - 6 Gallagher - 6 Quite a poor show really all around, apart from Adams. But Preston looked solid at home.
BedsFox Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale 8 Including one top class save from the header Neilson 6 One paced, I think this will catch us out soon Morrison 5 Generally insecure Tunchev 5 Rusty, needs games. Brown rightly first choice at the mo Powell 6 A legend of course N'Guessan 5 disappointing. Seems half hearted in so many of his attacking efforts Oakley 5 Poor night King 5 Did the donkey work well, but the team needed more in the last 20, and it didn't come Adams 7 Best midfielder by a long way. Gallagher 5 Nice touches, but little end product Fryatt 6 Threatened consistently. Oh for an extra yard of pace Dyer 5 Little chance to threaten Kermorgant 5 Looks like another support striker, to play off a target man Dickov 5 Usual waste of space
irDeano Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale - 8 - Would've given weale man of the match, looked impressive in goal, quick thinker and without him we could've conceded a lot more than just 2 Neilson 6 Morrison - 6 Tunchev - 5 Powell - 7 Adams - 7 Oakley - 7 King - 6 N'Guessan - 6 Fryatt - 6 Gallagher - 6 Dyer - 6 Kermorgant - 6 Dickov - 5
maddog Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale 9- Stunning saves Neilson 6- gave it a go, had some good throws but no one won the ball from them Tunchev 3.5- Piss poor, is he unfit Morrison 4- Almost as bad as Tunchev. Powell 9- Unbelieveable, nearly 40 years old and solid as ever. Adams 8- Another very good performance, got a goal and could have had another. Oakley 3- Fook off Matt, you never should have played after the pre-match 'don't care about cup comments' useless. King 3- Awful. N'Guessan 5- Couldn't get in the game but he has come up from League 2 to this level so you can forgive him a little. Gallagher 7- Showed some nice touches and passes. Fryatt 5.5- I wish he could put away more of his chances. Subs: Dyer- Not great Dickov- Pointless Kermo- Looked decent.
mancfox Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 To be honest i thought we played really well first half and perhaps deserved to be in the lead at the break. However after their second our heads dropped and it was a frustrating watch for the last half hour. Weale 8 - Really impressed, pulled off two cracking saves and looked solid all round. Neilson 7 - Decent game. didn't do alot wrong and linked up well in attack tonight. This guy will do a job but isn't going to set the game alight by any means. Tunchev 5 - Looked and played like a man who has been out of action for 6 months. Off the pace and out of position for both goals. To be fair he did make some good challenges and used his strength well. Glad he has got 90 mins under his belt which could be valuable match practice. Morrison 6 - Didn't have his best game tonight and his partnership with Tunchev wasn't the most fluid. I am a big fan of morrison and feel he still has alot to learn at this level but will turn out to be very useful. Powell 7 - His experience shone through tonight especially with his positional sense and make some crucial interventions. Will clearly be a useful squad player and able backup at leftback. Loved it when he skinned their right back. Legend N'Guessan 6 - Fits and spurts. Good start and assist but struggled to impose himself on the game and seemed to loose momentum before being subbed late on. Oakley 6 - I thought he had a very good first half and played a couple of clever through balls for fryatt and gallagher. In the second half he really did start to struggle and his passes were wayward. King 6 - Ordinary performance. Really struggling to impose himself so far this season. Its going to be hard work for him competing with wellens and i hope he rises to the challenge. He plays very simple passes but most of the time he is not incisive enough. Adams 7 - A livewire performance and very bright. All he needs is to be abit stronger on the ball and he would be in the side every week. The positive thing is that he seems to be getting better and is learning. Always looking to beat his man and create chances. Fryatt 7 - First half he had a great game and looked a sharper and a yard quicker than normal. Should have scored and deserved one to go in. Second half he faded abit and lacked service. He is full of confidence at the moment. Gallagher 6 - Considering how little time he has been at the club he has played ok. Good footballing brain and his vision is top draw. Attempted a couple of clever through balls and had a few half chances. Subs: Dyer 6 - Couldn't get into the game Dickov 5 - Not impressed with kicking the ball away when we were running out of time. Cannot see what he adds to the team and looks finished to be honest. A shadow of his former self. Big Yann 6 - Looks strong and physical, not enough time to judge him properly but did well to get in the position for his headed half chance.
bigneville Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Weale - 8 - Good game. Made a couple of excellent saves. No chance with goal. Neilson - 6.5 - Makes easy things difficult, but certainly does try to support the attack. A decent right back at this level. Morrison - 5 - Struggled with Preston's physical approach. Proved with Hobbs & Brown are first choice. Tunchev - 4 - Awful, looked unfit and lazy. Definetly not the Tunchev of last season. Powell - 8 - Fantastic. Handled everything thrown at him. Rolled back the years. N'Guessan - 6.5 - Didn't cover Neilson very well & never looks to have the ball under control. Saying that he still looks s threat. But wasn't a very productive night for Dany. Oakley - 7 - At the heart of all our best football. Worked hard. King - 4 - Another game just passed him by. Did a lot of running, but that's it. Adams - 7.5 - Constant threat, well taken goal. Looked very lively. Fryatt - 7 - Looked fresh, got into good positions. Still holds onto the ball for too long though. Gallacher - 6.5 - Still getting used to our system, but showed glimpses of quality. Subs Dyer - 6 - Didnt get involved and offered nothing different. Dickov - 5 - Absolute waste, came on and constantly gave free kicks away. Kermongant - 6 - Didnt get a chance to have an effect on the game.
C-man Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Tunchev 3.5- Piss poor, is he unfit Tunchev - 4 - Awful, looked unfit and lazy. Definetly not the Tunchev of last season. Yeah I'm sure you'd be match fit after playing zero competitive minutes of football. By all accounts he was poor but to get 90 minutes under his belt is a positive. No doubts that he'll be one of our top men by the end of the season.

Not if Hobbs and Brown remain fit and playing well. Tunch will struggle to get games.
C-man Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Not if Hobbs and Brown remain fit and playing well.Tunch will struggle to get games. There are still 42 league games to go, he'll have a big part to play. Yes Brown is playing like a unit but he'll have patches of bad form/fitness and if Tunchev takes his chance you'll be saying the same thing about Brown struggling to get back in. All ifs though at the moment.

Wheale has also looked a lot better than all the loanees we had last season too so far.
martyn Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Tunchev is arguably our best player. This was his first competitive 90 minutes after rehabilitation from a serious knee injury. However good the care a professional receives, it's ludicrous to think he'd be up to speed immediately. Lay off.

[/qBrown got dropped from Hull defence so he will be unlikely to keep up his form and lets face if he was Bulgarian he would not have a prayer of getting in their national side
jonw88 Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Great review on Tunchev here, worth a read: http://www.leicester.vitalfootball.co.uk/a...le.asp?a=167690
