I only occasionally start threads on particular albums, and this 1 deserves a thread I reckon.

Brilliant album, really unique by the current trend of mainstream music, Kid Cudi really put in work on this album and for me Its worth my money so I've pre ordered it ahead of release. I cant really compare it to anything out there but I think this album could surprise alot of people, very strong candidate for my album of the year.

Album artwork.

I know a few people on here will have heard this album by now...

Well impressed with "I make her say" the one with the gaga sample from the radio 1 live lounge.

Pursuit of happiness aswell, would make a good single, maybe not for kudi but for mgmt.

I actually love this now, I can listen to it over and over.

In fact, i've listened to it twice already today, and tempted to go for a third.

I especially love the start of Sountrack 2 My Life.

Do you like "My World"?

Ridiculously good album after a good 2 weeks of listening.

Sountrack 2 my Life is lyrically my favourite song of the year, cleaned up version of Sky might fall is amazing too.

Definitely going to be up there at the end of the year amongst my personal favourites. Love Solo Dolo and Sky Might Fall in particular, although the whole album is brilliant all the way through I think.

Dat New New has got to be one of the best songs this year for me... easily, its lyrically brilliant.

I bet. lol

lol I really wanted to put that new new, but the song on the album is called Dat...

Im pretty sure kudi says that though lol.

Kid Cudi being lyrical.

lol

I think coming up with super-cut-lery-alistic-leaner-ala-docis is pretty impressive. Just listen to the song, maybe lyrical was the wrong word, I just thing every single rap fits together well, hence the song has good lyrics.

I'll get slated for this but I don't think it's all that tbh.

Soundtrack 2 My Life is a decent enough tune but for me, it doesn't really get the motor running.

This is a great album, really interesting new hip-hop. Interesting beats and I love the ways its written in sort of a story format. And Commons speeches in some of the songs are just poetry.

Long before we know ourselves,

Our paths are already set in stone.

Some may never figure out their purpose in life,

And some will.

There are a lot of us who are caught up in this hell we all live in,

Content with being blinded by rules and judgment.

We live in a world where it's more okay to follow than to lead.

In this world being a leader is trouble for the system we are all accustomed to.

Being a leader in this day and age is being a threat.

Not many people stood up against the system we all call life,

But toward the end of our first ten years into the millennium we heard a voice.

A voice who was speaking to us from the underground for some time.

A voice who spoke of vulnerabilities and other human emotions and issues never before heard so vividly and honest.

This is the story of a young man who not only believed in himself,

But his dreams too.

This is the story of The Man On The Moon.

Absolutely fucking brilliant. Some belters on the album. Highly recommended.

Agreed.

Nothing special.

Song of the year for me. I play this so often on the old IPhone.

To be honest putting Cudi, MGMT and Ratatat in the same song, it really couldn't go wrong.

Because you definitely knew who he was before this album.
