Budweiser Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Absolutely. I am naturally biased anyway so I'll overlook his silly antics, and love him for his sublime talent. I love the bloke. Best striker in the Premiership. Torres is much better.
Finnegan Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Bias aside, I'd pick Torres over Drogba. He might be a bit of a blonde namby pamby but he pretty much carries Liverpool when on form. I reiterate my statement, I really do think Drogba's world class - one of the best on the planet. Strong, determined, decent in the air, hell of a boot on him. But Torres? Absolutely sublime. His hattrick yesterday was just insane, some shit defending but creative and utterly audacious. His technical ability is second to none. Every league's fans probably think their own top scorer is the best striker in the world; no doubt La Liga fans think Villa's the business for example. But in Torres I seriously think the Premier League's got a hell of a shout.
acooling08 Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Brilliant footballer just a shame he spoils it by cheating Exactly. He makes me smile with his quality one minute, then seething the next at his diving/handballs. Tbf he hasn't been cheating that much this season if at all has he?

By the end of the season, English people will finally be mentioning Ibrahimovic in the same breath too.
Finnegan Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 I've not had Sky Sports in nine or ten months, pardon me for making a generic example.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 I've not had Sky Sports in nine or ten months, pardon me for making a generic example. Just in jest really, but he was top scorer last season. Doubt many people will be offering him up as a candidate for best striker in the world, despite his awesome form in Spain.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Woeful start this year, mind. Atletico have imploded. Yeah, terrible. I didn't think they were that bad against Barca, but the defence is woeful and has been for some time. Asenjo's at the ludicrous World U20 Cup and Raul Garcia is a big miss in midfield. Against Barca they played five very attacking players. Drew 2-2 at the Mestalla last night though which might give them a bit of confidence. I still don't like Drogba by the way, just to keep on topic.
The Doctor Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 cheating scumbag. there is only one player i hate more than him and that is Ronaldo (the petulant drama queen, not the fat one)
Tommy G Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Immense. The last bloke on Earth I would want to mark. Wayne Rooney? I would rather be chased down by Drogba than Wayne
Finnegan Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Wayne Rooney?I would rather be chased down by Drogba than Wayne For a start he said mark not be marked by. But Rooney you'd have the opportunity to be clever with, get in his ear, wind him up, push him into doing something stupid. He's also going ot be less punishing if you give him an inch.

Opinion isn't it As a centre back, if you are marking a striker then it's likely that a number of times during a game that you will receive the ball and be chased down by a striker closing you down. That's what I meant if you are being picky. Drogba is much more lazy than Rooney. If I had the choice of the two in my team then Rooney would just edge it. He's got everything
SystonFox Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 very clever footballer but not as clinical as Torres, not as aware as Rooney so for me he sits 3rd in the prem dream team pecking order. doesn't mean he won't score more goals though!
Head Honcho Posted 29 September 2009 Posted 29 September 2009 Cracking striker with absolutely no integrity whatsoever.
