C-man Posted 11 October 2009 Posted 11 October 2009 The result of yesterday's game didn't really bother me other than the fact I had England to win. Anyone pushing the panic button should really think about how we managed to hold our own with 10 men in a hostile environment against a team that could still qualify for the World Cup. Don't forget they got to the Quarters 3 years ago. Rio's lack of form is frustrating but I'm sure by next June no-one will remember the 3 bloopers he's made recently. On form, there's no CB partnership better that RF and JT. The saddest point about yesterday's game was the apparently 'successful' Internet streaming, which could mean we may have to face similar situations in the future. Seriously, if you pay to watch a match online, don't complain when Perform are charging you £464 to watch the World Cup final in black and white. Oh, and nice to see that the FA have ran off crying to FIFA about the flares. Pathetic.
leicesterfox86 Posted 12 October 2009 Posted 12 October 2009 Decent article about the game and the internet streaming here. Always good for a laugh is Robbo!

But if this happened in this country, Blatter and Platini would come down on us like a ton of bricks and would say we are not right to host the World Cup ... One rule for one, one for another I suppose .....

Nonesense.
Uncle Albert Posted 13 October 2009 Author Posted 13 October 2009 Jesus people would think one loss out of 9 qualifiers was a disastrous thing. We were down to 10 men for crying out loud, hardly means we have peaked to early does it? Ukraine are a good team in the own back yard, so playing 75 minutes a man down was never going to be easy. People need to chillax, would rather this defeat now than earlier in the group away in Croatia because that would of opened the group and we wouldnt of qualified so quickly. Sooner the World Cup gets here the better.
sdb Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 It was only a matter of time before the public took a negative outlook on things. One loss (mainly due to a single incident) and people start knocking the team. We're through, the players probably want to concentrate on club football, and we lose to a decent team that have to win, 1-0, away. Hardly slit-your-wrists bad is it?! I'm as sure as i can be that if the WC was tomorrow we'd make the final 8. After that it's something of a lottery and all hypothetical re: opponents, injuries etc bla bla, but imo only Spain and Brazil would beat us more than vise-versa
Flynny Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 The saddest point about yesterday's game was the apparently 'successful' Internet streaming, If it was anything like the pub I was in anywhere else it was about as successful as Stephen Hawking's sex life.
