We've used plenty of worse defenders yet they didn't score or make goals nor were they the specialist free-kick taker we've desperately needed since Sheehan left. Sheehan's challenge is to concentrate on his football and deliver for long periods of time without getting temperamental. And we don't ever seem to have strong on coping with people who don't quite fit into convenient boxes. Perhaps that's part of the reason why we've been well respected under achievers since MON departed. Look at the characters he managed to get the best out of.
