Thracian Posted 24 October 2009 Posted 24 October 2009 Have some respect you lot: They were League Cup quarter-finalists (twice, bless em) They won the London War Cup in 1940-41 (Probably beat Broadwater Farm). And they won the full members cup in 1988 (And whatever they were full of they seem to have passed it on to Ryan Bertrand).
Tilley Posted 24 October 2009 Posted 24 October 2009 The lads should be fired up anyway for this huge game - READING AWAY!!
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2009 Posted 24 October 2009 At least their fans don't really seem to buy it.
Bryn Posted 25 October 2009 Posted 25 October 2009 A nothing club, who will remain a nothing club regardless of Monday night's result. Probably the best club he'll ever get a regular game for though.
davieG Posted 26 October 2009 Posted 26 October 2009 I hate this type of game where everything seems to be in your favour. Reading host Leicester tonight having slipped into the bottom three of the table but manager Brendan Rodgers has vowed to fight to turn things around at the Madejski Stadium. The Berkshire outfit have lost their last three league matches, including Tuesday’s 4-1 defeat against QPR, while they have not won a Championship game at home since the end of January. “I have had a right month and a half of it, first with the Watford fans on my back and now my own fans,” said the Royals boss. “But that is football. I was 35 when I got my chance as a manager and it wasn’t because I was nice or soft. I can take it. “Smooth seas have never made strong sailors but the water’s a wee bit rough at the moment. “As a manager you are judged by results. I came here on a three-year contract and I was given the faith of the club that I can deliver. “The reality is that, if the results aren’t coming, then it doesn’t matter how long your contract is as we have seen with Gareth Southgate.”
