RowlattsFox Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Weale -6- Not much to do but no as secure as he has been. Morrison -7- Was having a good game until the last 10 when he got complacent. Hobbs -7 - Much improved. Brown -7 - As above. Kept things simple which is the best you can expect from him. Berner -7 - Solid. Oakley -8- Best game for ages. Wellens -8- Back to the Wellens from the start of the season, ran the show. King -8- MOM two great finishes. Dyer -6- Never looked like beating his full back. Howard -7- When he plays well he's good, hope to see some consistentcy. Fryatt -7- No goals but good overall. McGivern -7- Much better, decent crossing. Kermogant -N/A Gallagher -N/A
bluebeau Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 I'd just like to give a special mention for possibly the best referee at The Walkers this season. 10/10 IMO. He controlled the game well & let it flow, hardly used his whistle, & only 1 x yellow card which was deserved. Total contrast to the asshole on Tuesdays game v Bristol City, he & the plonker running the line on the west side were bloody useless, & ruined what was a crap game without those 2 twatts! Good overall performance from the whole team ( Shef.Wed game), King & Morrison excellent. Shef.Wed keeper saved them from a good pasting.

marbelladave Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 The ref was so good, you had to tell us twice! we get it..... Against better opposition Brown is a liability, we need to get Morrison alongside Hobbs, and do it now. If O'Neil is not up to the job at right back play Nielson, or as the (missing in action) Thracian suggests, try Oakley at full back with (say) Adams in front of him. Bedding in a new right back is much less of a liability than keeping Brown in the side. I think Hobbs will be better alongside Morrison, he seems to react badly to Brown, until Tunchev returns it is the best option.

No major calls really but no truly bizarre decisions either.
C-man Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 I never understand all this Morrison-hoof lark....
TrickyTrev Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Brown will never have the ability to be a ball playing centre back, one who carries the ball out of defense or starts attacks with decisive passes. It is too much to ask him to suddenly become one. It is not however, too much to ask that he not lump the ball out for a throw in whenever and attacker is within 10 meters of him. He should at least have enough ability to play it simple to those around him who are more elegant with the ball at their feet. When he is low on confidence he fails to do this and his panicy clearences invite pressure and damage our ability to retain possession. That IS a problem and no amount of protesting that it is a defenders job to defend will stop it being so. Pearson says that we defend and attack as a team, which is vital in football, he should ensure that his team actually sticks to this philosophy.
lou Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 6 for all bar brown who gets 5.5 and King gets 7. People are getting carried away with their scores IMO, the oppo were dire thats all. Lets see how we do at Cardiff 10/10 for the Wednesday fans - absolute quality and I feel your pain.
