Joe. Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Weale 6 - Dealt with most things well without fuss. Absolutely no idea what he was doing coming out to almost gift them a goal, and thankfully for him Morrison was there to avert the danger. Morrison 6.5 - Solid for 85 minutes, then had a bit of a mad spell at the end. Steady enough, and a great clearance off the line near the end. Hobbs 8 - Barely put a foot wrong all game. Brown 7.5 - Defensively perfect like Hobbs, but his work with the ball still remains dreadful. Berner 7 - Pleased to see him back in the starting lineup, hoping his injury isn't too bad. Oakley 7 - Decent enough, would have been nice to see his first half effort hit the back of the net. Wellens 7.5 - Looked well up for it today, a commanding display in the middle. King 8 - Two beautifully taken goals makes him man of the match for me, it's great to see a midfielder so collected in front of goal. Dyer 6.5 - Without really scaring Wednesday I thought he had a decent game today, finally saw him with the confidence to go and take on his man. Howard 7 - When he's playing well he really does change the team for the better, so it was nice to see him finally get that goal he's been chasing for so long. Has to be Fryatt's most favoured strike partner. Fryatt 7.5 - No goals today, but a big hand in the first two. I thought he was brilliant for Steve's goal, did superbly well to get that cross to its target. Greedy bastard shooting from a ridiculous angle near the end, however.
Webbo Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 All 7s and 8s from me tonight. I don't think anybody had a bad game, not that they were really tested. Weale-7 Morrison-8 Hobbs- 7 Not bad but not at his best. Brown -8 Berner -7 Oakley -8 Wellens -8 King -8 Dyer-7 Howard- 8 Fryatt -8
Ozwin Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Weale - 6 (Didn't have to do much and his kicking was shocking today, what was up with him?) Morrison - 8 (Thought he was great, easily better than Nielson) Hobbs - 7 Brown - 8 (Very good today, looked assured and on the ball for once.) Berner - 7 Oakley - 8 (His best game for us on the wing me thinks, I reckon Pearson had a word in his ear about sticking on the wing.) Wellens - 8 (Passed very well and won free kicks during some of the tighter moments, very good) King - 8 (Scored goals but I didn't notice him too much, the goals make the rating) Dyer - 7 (Broke well, tried to run at his man which we like to see, shame it didn't pay off, good outing for him) Howard - 8 (Super Steve, shouldn't have left the side imo. Big man, quick forward is my prefered formation everytime.) Fryatt - 7 (Chased down well, did some of the more ugly stuff today but it was effective.) Subs: McGiven - 7 (Did alright, great cross for the 3rd goal and it was nice to see him congratulated by our side, that's what you wanna see with the youngsters, recognition. Kermorgant - N/A Gallagher - N/A

dandannieldanok Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Weale 5 (Not really sure what's going on with him at the minute, has Morrison to thank for sparing his blushes) Morrison 7 (Great goal line clearance and a generally comfortable and positive performance) Hobbs 7 (A few misjudgements but generally back to the focused displays we're used to) Brown 7 (Virtually unbeatable in the air) Berner 6 (Bit slow and sluggish but solid enough, a better defender than McGivern easily) Oakley 7.5 (Far far better than of late, showed great desire and energy, a captain's performance) Wellens 6 (Seemed to get a bit knocked about by some rough challenges but stuck to the task) King 8 (I think he's definitely played a lot better than that but 2 goals....enough said really) Dyer 5.5 (Seem scared to take on their right-back, I wish he had of done because he'd have definitely got the better of him, needs some confidence back) Howard 7.5 (Deserved his goal, shook up their defence, linked well with Fryatt) Fryatt 7.5 (Not his day personally in front of goal but worked hard and grabbed 2 classy assists) McGivern 7 (I would seriously consider turning him into a midfielder, he can pass and cross pretty well, but other games prove he just simply can't defend) Gallagher & Kermorgant 6
Kilworthfox Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Weale- 6 WTF was he doing, I thought we had David James in goal! Morrison- 7 Hobbs- 7 Brown - 8 Berner - 7 Oakley - 8 Wellens - 8 King - 7 Dyer- 6 Howard- 7 Fryatt - 8
davieG Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Had a bad day? Nope I thought Brown was shockingly bad especially considering the strength of the opposition - I had to stop myself giving him a 4. I enjoyed the game but I thought for large parts of the game we didn't play very well or confidently considering we were winning 2-0, there was still a lot of poor football in there despite the win and I firmly believe if we'd have been playing half decent team we would have been severely exposed. Not that i have to justify my ratings of course.
Webbo Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Not that i have to justify my ratings of course. Not at all. It's all about opinions.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Weale 7 - Nearly gifted them a goal coming out, but a fairly quiet game. Morrison 8 - Thought he had a great game and probably his best for City. Won everything in the air from crosses, and a great goal line clearance. Hobbs 7 - Solid throughout. Brown 7 - Going forward with the ball was terrible as usual but solid like Hobbs. Berner 7 - Consistent game as usual, hope the injury isnt too bad. Oakley 7.5 - A real captains performance today and showed he can play on the right. Wellens 7 - Best game for a month, looked fired up for it. King 8 - The only midfielder who can score. Great game for him today, MOM for me. Dyer 7 - Looked threatening. Howard 7.5 - So pleased he scored, had a great 2nd half but faded a bit in the 2nd. Staked his claim to start more instead of Waghorn. Fryatt 7 - Played well, and did well with the ball for Howards goal.

Donut Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Player Ratings For The Wednesday Game WEALE- 6.234 wasnt tested throughout the game at all by an impotent Wednesday attack. Didnt cover himself in glory however with the poor decision he made rushing out.But he doesnt make many bad decisions so this one was uncharacteristic. MORRISON- 7 No decimal places needed there. Defended with minimal fuss and got forward wherever possible to pretty good effect. Anticipation to get back to the line after the Weale mistake was a key moment at 2-0. BROWN- 6.569 Defended well enough, as long as he can plant his head on anything. When it comes to passing the ball he looks like a sunday morning clogger or possibly worse. Quicker and more intelligent forwards will continue to tear him a new one. Poor player. HOBBS- 7.5 No big deal here. defended well, although against a weak side. But a very competent performance BERNER- 7.5 Shame he had to limp off. Was getting forward, playing well, and never looked under any pressure DYER- 7.165 A nice return to some confidence, had plenty of chances to use his pace and bring others into the game, always a threat cutting inside too OAKLEY- 8 That was his best performance for quite a while. Energetic, made tackles, ball retention was good, and got into the box on a few occasions too. More of the same required from the skipper. Impressive especially in the first half WELLENS- 7.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 Was quality too, looking creative, ball retention was much better than in recent games and looks like he may be returning to form too KING-8 Got to be an 8 for the two goals and overall contribution. Certainly wasnt a boy lost today, plenty of energy, always available for the ball, two very nice finishes too, especially the second. More of the same please HOWARD- 7.5 Delighted hes off the mark for the season, overall contribution very good, linking up with Fryatt well. Always a big presence up top. FRYATT- 7.5 Played great too. nice assist for the first goal, tested the goalkeeper throughout, and timing of runs (a thing that maybe i take too seriously) was very good. Worked hard for the second goal assist too KERMO- 6.25675 wasnt on for long, and didnt do anything of any note, but im giving him .25675 for his flying airshot which was brilliant, funny, audacious, technical, ambitious and shite all in one McGIVERN- 6 Obviously has a sweet left foot, but isnt positionally aware. not as if it mattered today though. like berner more though GALLA- 6 Minimal impact today, but still has good technique and nice delivery BIG NIGE- 8.5 Top marks, reverted back to a good old 442 big man little man, the formula that had served us so well in getting promoted, and worked perfectly today. Has helped instill some of the lost confidence in the side and has got the reaction we needed. Expertise of him and backroom staff needed over the christmas period amidst some tough fixtures

Very suprised, I rate him highly.
tartanowl Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 He normally scores against us and I was concerned about him being agaisnt Brown but he was poor and never had a look in. Very suprised, I rate him highly. He hasn't looked interested for weeks. He seems to be one of Laws undroppable ones though.
lildave3 Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Tudgay has blatantly given up with Wednesday and will be off in Jan I imagine.

orangecity23 Posted 12 December 2009 Posted 12 December 2009 Much better performance today. Weale: 6 Generally sound, but christ what possesed him to come charging out the box like that? Got away with it fortunately. Morrison: 7 Solid, got forward well too. When he's in the team, you know he can be relied on for a decent performance. Brown: 6 Won most of his headers, his passing was sometimes a bit wayward. Was worried in the first half though, both Hobbs and he seemed indecisive. Hobbs: 6.5 Started a bit shaky, better as the game went on. Berner: 7 Business as usual, hope his injury isn't too bad. Oakley: 7 Actually provided some width, worked hard too. Looked exhausted in the second half, when he kept having to walk over to take corners King: 9 Two goals, both well taken. Passing was good too. I'd like to see King pushing forwards more, like today. Sometimes he does the simple things, just keeping possesion by making safe passes, but I think when he plays with more freedom, he really starts to make things happen. Wellens: 7 Back to what we expect from Wellens, tenacious and hard working and picked some fine passes out too. Dyer: 7 Provided some much needed width, and the Wednesday defence looked shaky when he was running at pace at them. Fryatt: 7 Fantastic movement, worked hard too. Read Howards flick ons well, and nearly got clean through twice. Will score plenty if he keeps performing like this. Howard: 8 Vintage Big Steve. Won his flick ons, great to see him finally score. Linked up well with Fryatt, the understanding between these two was key today. Subs: Mcgivern: 6 Great crosses, did ok. Kermo: 6 Great to see him trying the Bicycle Kick, even if he failed spectacularly. Score us a Bicycle kick goal like the ones on Youtube, and we'll all love you forever Yann. Bonus rating Ref - 8 Best we've had in ages. Got everything pretty much spot on. More like this please, and less like from the Plymouth game. Sheff Wed fans - great atmosphere, fantastic sense of humour. Hope they manage to stay up. Clarke - Saddest looking striker I've ever seen. Looked like someone had told him Christmas has been canceled.
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Weale 6 - Made a couple of saves but his distribution was poor. Not sure what he was doing when he raced out of his box in the second half. Morrison 7 - I've been impressed with Morrison. Got forward well, defended well, and covered the goal when Weale went wandering. Hobbs 6 - Another solid game at the back. Brown 7 - Defended superbly and won everything in the air. Distribution is still woeful. Berner 6 - Played well before going off injured. Oakley 7 - A much better game for Oakley today. He put himself about well and had three good shots. Wellens 6 - A solid game but he still seems to miss the obvious pass. King 8 - Two goals from midfield. Enough said. Dyer 6 - Looked lively and supported both the defense and attack well. Howard 7 - Worked hard, won most of his headers and scored his first goal in 20 hours! I'd stick with him for at least the next two games even though I'd personally see Kermogant given a run. Fryatt 7 - Looked lively, as instrumental in the first goal and played a part in the second. McGivern 6 - Supported the attack well and looked more solid at the back than in his recent performances. Gallagher 5 - Can't remember anything good or bad about his performance. Kerorgant 5 - See Gallagher.
Fox92 Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Don't think I have done this for todays game: Weale 6 - Not sure what he was doing coming out. His kicking is terrible out his hands. But then again, I don't rate him so... Morrison 8 - Steady enough for a centre back at right back. Honestly, he is a legend. Hobbs 8 - Solid Brown 7.5 - Solid but on the ball abit unsteady. Berner 7 - Solid. Crossing isn't as good as McGivern's though. Oakley 7.5 - Best game I have seen him on the right. Wellens 8 - Awesome. King 8 - Two great goals and another great performance. Where's that poll? Dyer 6.5 - Was ok. Doesn't run at them like he used too. Howard 7.5 - Played well. Wants crosses, he got one and showed us what he can do Fryatt 8 - No goals today, but he was excellent
Ultra Posted 13 December 2009 Posted 13 December 2009 Weale - 6. Lost a lot of confidence this week - hopefully will regain it with a clean sheet. Morrison - 7. Solid enough - much better than Neilson. Good anticipation for the goal-line clearance too. Hobbs - 6. Another player shell-shocked by recent events. A better attack than Wednesday's would have taken advantage. Brown - 5. His distribution was appalling. Not looking forward to his clash with Chopra next week. Berner - 7. Was doing well until his injury. A welcome return to form. Oakley - 5. Don't understand the adulation he's getting. Gave possession away even more than Brown did. Wellens - 7. Best performance since his injury at Watford. More like this will be needed in games ahead. King - 8*. Gained due reward for being more adventurous - long overdue, but still welcome. Dyer - 6. Some useful runs, not enough end product though. Howard - 6. Despite his goal, still looked well off pace for long spells. Will be sussed out by better defences. Fryatt - 7. Two assists and a couple of useful shots. Another showing signs of regaining form. McGivern - 7. Looked useful in attack, rarely troubled in defence. Gallagher - 5. Made little impact on game and unlikely to displace Dyer. Kermorgant - n/a

All his bad games have come against quick small strikers.
