Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 The only chance we have of a 32,000 crowd is v Forest or if there is something riding on the last game v Middlesborough. Cov could have been touching 30K but this will take at least 5K off the attendance!!! It's a shame in the sense that the atmosphere will be reduced but financially the money we will receive by the broadcasters far outweighs the loss in ticket and sales revenue.

And for the umpteenth time, the Club has said in the past that televised games operate at a loss. They are only obliged to go along with it because the Football League say that we have to.
Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 And for the umpteenth time, the Club has said in the past that televised games operate at a loss. They are only obliged to go along with it because the Football League say that we have to. I wasn't aware of that. I can understand that they may be running on a loss on the actual day but the lump sum which each club receives at the start/end of the season surely covers this plus a little left over.

Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 maybe in the Prem but not at this level Source??? I'm sorry but I find this hard to believe.

Guest Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 Oh it must be right then. Lisa says so. <_< There. That didn't hurt.
StanSP Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 Oh it must be right then. Lisa says so. <_< She's a female (as far as I know). They have to have things their way. We'll just pretend they're right
davieG Posted 5 January 2010 Author Posted 5 January 2010 I thought everyone knew that, it's discussed on he so often.
Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 My mate Dave said down the pub that Fryatt is on 40 grand a week. It must be true. It's all good having people who think they're "in the know" but I highly doubt Lisa has access to Leicesters business plan and monthly bank statements. I want facts, figures, some literature maybe?
Jimmy Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 Source???I'm sorry but I find this hard to believe. from Wiki In November 2007 the league announced a new domestic rights deal worth £264 million with Sky and the BBC for the three seasons from 2009-2012. It covers Football League, Carling Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy matches and the full range of media: terrestrial and pay television, broadband internet, video-on-demand and mobile services. The deal represents a 135% increase on the previous deal and works out at an average of over £1.2 million per club per season, though some clubs will receive more than others. Sky will provide the majority of the coverage, but the BBC will have some of the higher profile matches, namely 10 exclusively live matches from the Coca-Cola Championship per season and the semi-finals and finals of the Carling Cup.

Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 the bottom club in the Prem gets around £30m in "prize" money (t.v. money/league sponsorship) mainly the t.v. deal with the Football League is onl;y around £30m and covers 3 league or 72 clubs who get a share I understand that, but that doesn't suggest that the club make a overall loss when they are televised as the money given covers this. I've seen a few figures in the past in regards to how much money is given to each club (I'm sure more was given this year from left over parachute payments) but if those figures were correct they will far outweigh the total loss in revenue. from WikiIn November 2007 the league announced a new domestic rights deal worth £264 million with Sky and the BBC for the three seasons from 2009-2012. Okay so it says on average each club will receive £1.2 million. The question now is how much profit on average do the club generate on a standard fixture in comparison to televised games. Then we can work out the difference and subtract it away from £1.2 million. I'm on the FCC, or is that something else that has passed you by? So enlighten us with some figures?

If you choose not to trust them then don't but there is no need to get hostile towards them when they do so, most of us appreciate them for doing it. After all the club give us precious little information

lou Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 Il be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing! Im grateful for any snippet of goss I can get from those in the know.
Guest Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 So enlighten us with some figures? If the figures were going to be made public, they would have been minuted. The issue has arisen a number of times and discussed, and it has been pointed out that the club makes no money from televised games at this level. Had it been someone else suggesting this, you wouldn't be so demanding, methinks.
Matt Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 Hello shit cov attendance. We'll still beat Covscum's attendance on a normal game at the Ricoh that's not on TV. Easily.
Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 maybe you should grow up a little bit, some people on here will know more then others about what happens at the club, for whatever reason, sometimes they choose to share any information they get on here, sometimes they don't or can't. Am i suppose to just take your word as gospel? Bollocks.
Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 well consider who many games we get picked for and how much the attendance drops by at an average of about £23 per ticket But it's impossible to decipher without knowing how much of that £23 is actual profit. Also you have revenue such as food, drink, programmes to take into consideration. Hence nobody knows and it has been pointed out that the club makes no money from televised games at this level. Prove it? Show me where it says this in black and white from a reliable source. That's all I asked yet you fail to deliver. Had it been someone else suggesting this, you wouldn't be so demanding, methinks. What you on about? You're the one who started this... You're the one saying the club operates at a loss with televised games and all I've said is I don't believe that's the case to the response that I have to just take somebody's word.

Everything I post, at the moment, you jump on. You're like a rabid dog. It's quite funny.
Edmund Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 What part of 'not been minuted' do you not understand? So translated into English - You don't know Everything I post, at the moment, you jump on. You're like a rabid dog. It's quite funny. You're the one who quotes me. Am I not suppose to reply to you're posts. The last time I checked this was a discussion board yet when you're out of your grasp you turn to petty insults. It's quite funny.
Webbo Posted 5 January 2010 Posted 5 January 2010 If all or most of the clubs lose money on the TV deal why do they vote it in?
