suffolk fox Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 2-1 defeat.Since the original Cardiff game was postponed I've seen very little to give me any confidence, and now that my condition that I wouldn't complain until we dropped out the play-off spots has been met, I can say I think the psychological weakness inherent to any modern day Leicester side has become apparent once again. We could have easily won yesterday, but the players didn't believe it even when they were 2-1 up with 20 minutes to go. There is far too much inexperience in the squad (N'guessan handed them their equaliser with an utterly pointless foul, McGivern was **** (insert appropriate negative adjective there, and we rely on a 20 year old loanee to do anything interesting for us upfront) yet the experienced players play as if they're still learning their trade in League 2 (Oakley's comical passing for example). The only improvement I noticed yesterday was delivery from set-pieces, where Gallagher's corners were consistently good and often led to chances. I'll get included with all the over-the-top 'reactionaries' that fill the post-match threads after a defeat or draw but I'm confident that my point has something concrete behind it: since S****horpe got that 90th minute equaliser in November going to see City has been EXACTLY like going in 2007-2008. Inconsistency all over the place (exemplified by how Pearson now doesn't have a 'favoured' starting line up, he's having to choose different every week) and a lack of confidence. If the team play like they did for most of yesterday but with the added belief that the game IS THEIR'S TO WIN, then we might have a chance. This will be summed up on Saturday at home to Newcastle, which could be a big turning point back in the right direction should they put on the right performance. But Tuesday night at Oakwell doesn't seem like the time that a 'big reaction' is going to happen, so I just can't see us getting anything. Good Post this! I agree with every word! One of the problems seems to be Nigel Pearsons erratic team selections. Is he dropping players and bringing others in, to please other managers? Couldn't understand after the Ipswich game why he dropped Howard? After all for all the Howard haters, he did score in that game and I beleive he is a confidence player? One of the things we had last season was a more or less settled team, this season we seem to have lots of chopping and changing this can't be for the good of the team and must be very unsettling. Why Pearson persists in Kermogant up front is a mystery cos I can't see how he is ever going to score a goal? I would like a settled front two as we had for most of last season even if it is the tried and trusted Howard and Fryatt. On another note nice to see Nicky Adams playing well for Orient at Charlton refreshing to see a winger taking players on and beating them?

He's had a few cameo appearances at home and in the away games he hasn't been playing as an orthodox front man. Wasn't the reason for changing the Howard and Fryatt relationship due to Howard's lack of goals?
Ultra Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 2-1 to Barnsley - Hume to get their winner. Can't believe I'm the first to mention him.
Nod.E Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 'Stop the rot??????????' Rot? What f%cking rot? In our last four games we've won 2, drew 1, lost 1. We've won 50% of our games of late. Some rot, that, mate. Mind you, we have temporarily dropped out of the play-offs. I take it all back. We'll win 2-1. They'll score first. Wellens will get his first of the season half way through the first half, and King will win it for us on 85 minutes. Scrappy performance and a result.
samuel Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Much against my better judgement, I am punting for a 2-0 Leicester win. I really want them to win this game for confidence sakes, They need belief in themselves for Saturday!! Mainly because I don't want to sitting in front of the box cringeing!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 1-1 We'll be winning, and we will let the lead slip like we've done quite a few times this season. N'Guessan (If he starts) Hume to score for them.
Joepeace09 Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Going for a scrappy 1-0 howard grabbing a winner, but us getting a clean sheet may be a bit hopeful...but do need this win before the tough game on saturday, c'mon city!
martyn Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Lose 2-1 Will go 2-0 down before King gets a 90th minute consolation.
easilee Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Miserable sod's. 0-2, King & Fryatt. I am a bit pissed already though.
Salieri Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Tricky match despite our recent good record against Barnsley. Robins has done a good job, though their form has dipped of late. Desperately hoping for a morale boosting victory but a draw is on the cards i feel. 1-1.
