MPH Posted 18 February 2010 Posted 18 February 2010 Its a tough one... and i have mixed feelings about this... I completly understand his decision.. it makes sense. survival is his main aim.. Yet if it was Leicester City and we were travelling to Old trafford to see City Play i would be pretty peeved to see a reserve team take to the pitch having spent all that money to go and watch them play. Its the fans i feel sorry for...
The Doctor Posted 19 February 2010 Posted 19 February 2010 it's very harsh, this was start of december right, so during one of the most congested parts of the season a team is not allowed to rest it's players and play with other members of it's squad in a game they were never going to win to keep their players fit for an arguably more important game on the saturday.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 February 2010 Posted 19 February 2010 Interesting - the Premier League have now made what is a land mark decision, so I will be interested to see what happens when the next questionable instance of team selection occurs, especially if it is one of the big four. It will be also interesting how the Premier League define 'weekened team' with a clear definition. In practice, I think what the Premier League is not actually sustainable against an appeal, but as it is a suspended fine, I don't expect Wolves to bother doing that. (Maybe one of the legal eagles might assist on this veiw?) If this is their verdict on this matter, god knows what the PL are going to do with Portsmouth and the ever changing circumstances of doom?!?
