Ashley Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 The Forest lad took a beating from what I saw at the back of N Block
C.J Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 This is the second game in a row that there's been trouble in the family stand, its getting more lively than the kop down there!!!!! Yeah, forom what I was told it there were afew trees in there. Saw one tree (in the east stand, in he corner near the kop) go down the concourse with about 5 mins to go and unfurl a trees flag. Of course all the stewards were down the front so i think the little **** got away (well, i hope he didnt).
crisp monster Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Not knowing too many other City fans i have watched them from behind enemy lines many times living in Bedford i know many supporters of other clubs and have normally sat with them at most grounds without having any real problems just have to keep your mouth shout most of the time and if City fans start on Forest fans who might just be going to the game with City fans then thats a bit sad (as long as the're not gobbing off) over the last few years the Walkers has been dead and Saturdays big attendance against Forest brought in some much needed cash which may help to fund a loan deal or two

Glad I've left there to go uni
JoeyB Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Just to the right of me, no one came in from the away end, he was sitting there, then got found out, took a beating and then got thrown out to some applause from the forest fans, then a Leicester fan got chucked out to, don't know why tho
Ultra Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Not knowing too many other City fans i have watched them from behind enemy lines many times As have I - usually when i've been unable to blag a ticket for our end, or when I've been with relatives/mates. just have to keep your mouth shout most of the time and if City fans start on Forest fans who might just be going to the game with City fans then that's a bit sad (as long as they're not gobbing off) Agreed. over the last few years the Walkers has been dead and Saturdays big attendance against Forest brought in some much needed cash which may help to fund a loan deal or two Indeed - and maybe the result and atmosphere will encourage the part-imers (at least the locally-based ones) to turn up a bit more often..
crisp monster Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Sorry to hear that. Glad I've left there to go uni you'll be back mate - too much time away and you might pick up a daft accent
StanSP Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 you'll be back mate - too much time away and you might pick up a daft accent i'm back every week Haven't picked up any accents as of yet!
jonthefox Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Ive not heard too much about punch ups et al, but i did read one funny story on the forest mad board. Apparently the manager at sainsburys decked out a car with a forest sticker in with blue and white ribbons
Guest DavidJCW Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 I know a lot has been said about moving the kop to the family stand and vice versa, but aside from that, what can the club do to make the atmosphere at the Walkers better? Is it in fact the structure itself that renders it nigh on impossible to create a great atmosphere? Or is it simply down to the fans being separated?
Phlashman Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 A few seasons ago at Hull at home (the season they went up) we had a Hull fan in front of us. Instead of pointing him out we spent the game putting chewing gum in his hood.

Or is it simply down to the fans being separated? Newcastle this season proved it's entirely possible to create a great atmosphere (other than during goal celebrations) at the Walkers - the problem is fans who either can't be bothered (more and more of L and K these days) or those who aren't interested (the rest of the stadium, except for pockets of the Kop).
MPH Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Its all seater stadiums. The grade of plastic they use in the seats are designed to suck the enthusiasm out of you that is there to have fun and chant lots.

MPH Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Wasn't Filbert Street all-seater from 1994? they didnt use anti-atmospheric seats tho. only cheap seats for a quick job..... They didnt fit in with the stadium design...
lou Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Now that's a name I hadn't heard for a while.Apparently he now plays for Stamford AFC in the Unibond Division One South. Things obviously didn't work out for him after leaving us. He runs football courses for school kids now... My Daughter is best mates with his lad at school... beat that for a claim to fame! Puts Mr "I sat next to Tom from Kasabian" Daggers to shame!
lcfc"weasel" Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 There was a Forest fan in front of me in the far right of SK1, got a few songs shouted right down his ear after realising. Looked on the verge of tears afterwards bless him.

Puts Mr "I sat next to Tom from Kasabian" Daggers to shame! He gave me a lift home once last year when I went to help my mate out by being a linesman at Judgemeadow school for an u11's game. Such a nice bloke. Also I saw a few scuffles near the club shop, was quite comical actually.
