Thinly veiled propaganda for the American armed forces and it's (recent and current) warmongering government. Shame on you all! From the position the Allies were in at the time its 50/50 whether we would have won the war, it certainly would have taken a lot longer, they didnt win the war but boy did they help.

The point is how "America won the war and saved the world" for exploitation by American capitalism. The war in Europe was won by the Soviet Union, in material terms at least. In theoretical terms the British decision not to 'seek terms' from the Nazis in 1940 was possibly the turning point. The non participation of Britsh forces in southern Europe and the Mediteranean in 1940-41 and the acquisition of the Royal Navy by the Nazis may have been enough to tilt the invasion of Russia in Hitlers favour. The destruction of Russia in 1941, before it's vast manpower and industrial forces could could be brought into play could well have left Hitler in control of Europe, western Asia and crucially the middle east. But that is very probably a topic for another day!
Gav_LCFC Posted 12 April 2010 Posted 12 April 2010 Watched the 5th episode it was amazing! If you don't like the slow pace after the 3rd episode atleast hold out to the 5th ep. Brilliant fight scene think it was 15mins long.

Was anyone else surprised at just how fast it all got underway in epi 1? I know they're different shows but Band of Brothers really didn't start much until the end of the pilot if i'm correct.
danielpholt Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 I now have something of a soft spot on Claire van der Boom. Does this theme song seem a tad longer than that of Band of Brothers? I know its a HBO production, and they can pretty much do what they wan't but really, its about 3 minutes long.
