grth2004 Posted 7 April 2010 Posted 7 April 2010 Oriental yeti’ that looks like a bear without fur shipped for tests A bizarre creature, dubbed the “oriental yeti”, has baffled scientists after emerging from ancient woodlands in remote central China. The hairless beast was trapped by hunters in Sichuan province after locals reported spotting what they thought was a bear. One hunter, Lu Chin, said: “It looks a bit like a bear but it doesn’t have any fur and it has a tail like a kangaroo. “It also does not sound like a bear — it has a voice like a cat and it is calling all the time — perhaps it is looking for the rest of its kind or maybe it's the last one. "There are local legends of a bear that used to be a man and some people think that’s what we caught," he added. Now stumped local animal experts have shipped the mystery beast to scientists in Beijing for DNA tests. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/science/biology_evolution/article7088318.ece

I await further developments with intrigue.
Edmund Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Bear lookalike, China and no furr..... Sounds like a bear ready to be deep fried escaped from the local takeaway.
Collymore Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Evidence of nuclear testing if ever you needed it...
Babylon Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 So there aren't many of them (well there's one), it's part ROO and part BEAR.... If they don't call it a RARE or a BOO I'll not be happy. Evidence of nuclear testing if ever you needed it... Or evidence of a bear fooking a kangaroo.
samlcfc Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 looks like one of these but with mange or something. Would have thought the people who caught it would know if it was though
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 This IS a Kangaroo. Shaved maybe, but still a Kangaroo. Nuts to anyone who says it isn't.! Mind you, I could be wrong! Oh well, nuts to me then!
Vacamion Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Somone has shaved it. You can see the shaving rash. Imagine that conversation : "What did you do at work today, love?" "Oh not much, but I did shave a bear after lunch"
Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 April 2010 Posted 8 April 2010 Maybe it shaved itself. That would be impressive
