davieG Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Arrested and bailed - so will still be playing for them. Blackpool striker DJ Campbell has been arrested in connection with a stabbing outside a night club. Lancashire Police led Campbell away from Blackpool's training ground in front of astonished players and management. He was allowed to change from his kit and was formally arrested. Campbell, who has played in the Premier League with Birmingham City, was held in the cells at Blackpool Police station before being handed over to detectives from the Metropolitan Police. He was taken to London and questioned at Hammersmith Police station by officers investigating the stabbing of a 24-year-old man outside The Crescent Club, West Kensington in the early hours of a Sunday morning in January. The victim was stabbed in the side and rushed to hospital but has since recovered. Club-goers fled from the scene before police arrived but now over two months later London-born Campbell - real christian names Dudley Junior - has been arrested. He was granted police bail pending further inquiries. Blackpool would only say that Campbell is fit to play against Peterborough on Saturday. The game has been described by Seasiders' boss Ian Holloway as the most important match of his career with a place in the Championship play-offs beckoning the seventh-placed club. Campbell is on loan at Blackpool from Leicester City who bought him for £2 million. He joined Blackpool desperate for first-team football and scored twice against Nottingham Forest last week. Jon the Hat Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Can we sack him now for breach of club rules Ooh good one.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Can we sack him now for breach of club rules You can bet your arse he will be sacked if found guilty. One way to get him off the wage bill.
Babylon Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Can we still recall him for the playoffs? I smell a wind up.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Can we still recall him for the playoffs? He'd cut through defences like a... Yeah, you get the picture.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Can we sack him now for breach of club rules It's Dennis Wise all over again. Will it culminate in us getting promoted having only signed Nicky Summerbee and Billy McKinlay?
Jordan Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 He'd cut through defences like a... Yeah, you get the picture. It's Dennis Wise all over again. Will it culminate in us getting promoted having only signed Nicky Summerbee and Billy McKinlay? But they played for free, no? Wage bill cut, job done.
Babylon Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 I doubt he stabbed anyone, he'd of missed from two yards even if he tried.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Another bad thing that will be associated with Leicester City. Him and Mandaric could probably share a cell.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 But they played for free, no? Wage bill cut, job done. I'm sure they'll help us out again if needed
leicesterfox86 Posted 23 April 2010 Posted 23 April 2010 Frist Mattock and now Campbell. Makes you wonder if NP knows trouble when he sees it. I was thinking the same thing to be honest - what a bloke. Love it when everything the manager does is a touch of genius in many peoples eyes.
