detari74 Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 The Academy side finally one the league with a 3-2 win at Ipswich. Although missing a couple of key players, Parks (At Burton) Milnes and Yussef injured, they managed to beat an Ipswich side that has beaten alot of good sides this season. First half goals from Jorrin John and Nathan Hicks gave us a good lead only for Ipswich to pull one back quite early in the second half. Jeffrey Schlupp ran onto a great flick from Elliot Chamberlain and managed to smash his shot past the Ipswich keeper. Ipswich did manage to score a great goal to make the score more respectful but Leicester throughly deserved their win. The first play off match should be against Forest at the Walkers. Maybe this current lot of players might do what others haven't and actually play for the first team
Salieri Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Congratulations to the Academy on a fantastic season. I hope a few of these promising lads can make it here, personally i'd love someone called Jeffrey Schlupp leading the line.
Sylvie85 Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Fantastic season. Hopefully they will get the chance in the first team.
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 If it's true that next season there will be a proper reserve team playing in a proper reserve league, then that's a blooming good start.
BoneDog Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Congratulations to the youth team for their great season It's good times tonight in FT land! If I was Pearson I'd play the Academy team against Middlesborough and rest our first team squad. That's what I do on Football Manager at a time like this anyway

Middlesbrough have nothing to play for and it's not an unfaIr advantage to those teams around them either.

dpjfox Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 We need an Academy website (pics profiles fixtures etc) yes blood some v boro
ACF Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Bring in O'Neill, Schlupp and John , play Adams and N'Guessan from the start, Logan in, and use Verma. That to me would be the ideal team to use.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Forest's website has their Academy down as playing ours in the semis at our place (which should mean the Walkers) on Saturday 8th May. Not sure whether that will stand with us playing the next day but if it does, that will be a tense weekend for Academy followers. As with the first team, the 18s have reached an incredible achievement in the "regular season" by remaining unbeaten (with one game left) and winning the division ahead of top-quality teams like Tottenham and Villa, especially without players like Tom Parkes and Craig King out on loan for long spells. Well done to all the staff and players involved, fantastic effort and looking forward to the semi and hopefully final too.
detari74 Posted 25 April 2010 Author Posted 25 April 2010 The date that was mentioned to me is Monday the 10th of May.
Raj Posted 26 April 2010 Posted 26 April 2010 The whole club seems to have a positive vibe about it over this past period of months, even as far back as last season. Perhaps in hindsight the Stoke effect was a blessing in disguis(albeit a hurtful one at the time) We got some super kids coming thro reading some of these(n fezs) reviews. We dont seem top have the negaitivity surrounding the club like we did. And no one is even bothered about hammering Manderic either!!!
