Edmund Posted 12 May 2010 Author Posted 12 May 2010 Please don't tell me he's been instrumental to their success, because he hasn't. He's a passenger in that team, with a more able defender they'd be on course for the treble this year, not the measly double. I've never said Terry was solely responsible for Chelsea's title, I just find your comment about Terry not being able to cope with pace laughable. If this was the case he'd be struggling week in week out in the prem. A passenger? NSLL you either have a small footballing brain or are just arguing for the sake of it, it's no mean feat to captain your side and motivate a team to the championship no matter how good the players are around you. When I've seen him play he's been a rock at the back.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 I think if Ledley King could play more than one game a season, he'd get played ahead of Terry anyway. On his day, easily one of the best English centre backs. However, when a Terry injury means that Matthew Upson will probably be representing us at the World Cup as his replacement in the side, I couldn't give a shit about what he's done. Upson is proper, proper gash. Dawson's come on well, but I'd still rather have Terry if I'm honest. Experience could be priceless. Agreed, only King really has the quality to disrupt the pairing of Ferdinand and Terry. Dawson's got potential but as you say he lacks the experience. After this four, I don't really see anyone else I'd trust at centre half for a world cup campaign.

For me King is our best centre half bar none, Terry would be his partner in my team and Dawson the back up
Edmund Posted 12 May 2010 Author Posted 12 May 2010 I also like the fact that King plays through the pain. That's exactly what you want from a centre half.
Fosse Boy Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Personally I think he should be fucking castrated for what he did Why? The bird he did the dirty with was waaaaaaaaaaaaay hotter than his missus.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Also, imo, Owen Hargreaves is a class above Barry and Carrick. Shame he's crippled virtually all the time too.

Hope Ledley can play a good number of games in this tournament.
Asha Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Why? The bird he did the dirty with was waaaaaaaaaaaaay hotter than his missus. I guess because I actually value the concept of marriage, and loyalty to the commitments made.

Yeah, John Terry's stopped Chelsea from winning the Champions League this year.
Fosse Boy Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 I guess because I actually value the concept of marriage, and loyalty to the commitments made. And so he should have his bollocks chopped off...
Koke Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Personally I think he should be fucking castrated for what he did, but I'll settle for laughing at the cunts face as the England teams' flight to South Africa leaves without him. Not only do I want Terry to play in the heart of England's defence as a starter, but I would also want him to be captain. I used to pick ex-convicts, serial cheaters and home-wreckers for my Sunday League team, because they were bloody good footballers. I am in absolutely no position to judge their personal life, because I have enough sins on my conscious and can't be a judgemental prick.
ozleicester Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 The best CB in England currently. To lose him would certainly weaken our side and reduce our (IMO) very real chances of success this year. Oh and seriously...it was just a bit of fun, he didnt kill anyone, he didnt rape anyone, 2 adults decided to have some fun.
