andy_croydz Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 In the filbert street KOP days we always had a massive flag going around the pens before kick off, would cover around 30 people if not more. any chance we can create something like this, i for one would contribute financially If I remember correctly... Didn't Leicester have a big flag in the kop before matches a few years back? Would cover LOADS of people .
Corky Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 If I remember correctly... Didn't Leicester have a big flag in the kop before matches a few years back? Would cover LOADS of people . Yeah, it said "We're In It Together". I recall that the Villa fans were unimpressed with it.
Stand UP... Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Yeah, it said "We're In It Together". I recall that the Villa fans were unimpressed with it. Yeah hopefully something abit more hardcore then that to represent the true fans on hear that want a proper atmosphere.
Ozwin Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 If I remember correctly... Didn't Leicester have a big flag in the kop before matches a few years back? Would cover LOADS of people . I remember that, I always wanted to be underneath it but never was
foss1884 Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 That flag can be resurrected and used alongside the banners and flags. It would seem such a waste otherwise. Interesting future ideas would be to do card displays with supporters holding up coloured placards spelling out a message of support or just simply a blue and white swathe of colour in The Kop for the "big" games and derbies.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 We've talked about all this! our big waver doesnt look like it will be allowed any time soon, so we could easily use the 3 metre x 3 metre flag as a surfer and card displays are deffinatly on the horizon for the kop
andy_croydz Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 We've talked about all this! our bif waver doesnt look liek it will be allwoed any time soon, so we could easily use the 3 metre x 3 metre flag as a surfer and card displays are deffinatly on the horizon for the kop I think a massive Fosse Boys flag would be good, maybe even bigger than 3 by 3, I don't think it needs anything flash on it, just the Fosse Boys logo would be good enough.
AndyBrew Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 I'm collecting scarfs tomorrow Arab will you be wearing a pink carnation ;-)

andy_croydz Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Imagine if we had a flag this big with 'Fosse Boys' on it floating over the kop before the game... I think Arab would cream himself.
1964FOX Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 With regards to moving people to accomodate the Fosse Boys at the top of SK1 I have a season ticket in the location being talked about, I can say 200 hundred seats could easily be allocated to the group at the back and you probably wouldn't have to move anyone so it is very achievable without updating any other fans
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 yeah deffinatly we'll be looking into getting stuff like that made in the near future not quite but i will be wearing my fosse boys scarf! just go up to anybody wearing a fosse boys scarf and introduce your self, they'll hopefully point you in the right direction failing that, i'll be the guy with a tesco bag full of scarfs Ready for this! I'll be there about 12.30ish tomorrow Liam to pick up my scarf and have a few pints with the 'boys' And to foss1884, top effort with the email mate, sterling stuff. Lillehamring Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 True, that may be the case. That is your opinion. However, the points that needed to be made were articulated in a way that shows hopefully some degree of thought had been put into the matter. don't get me wrong, i thought it was well written, generally, but i just found that you were talking to the leicester guy, who is known to be a stubborn fooker, as if he was naive and that other people know better, which i can't imagine him digging... just an observation.
Ozwin Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 What bugs me is you'd think there'd be real footballing people working for the club who'd welcome this sort of thing.
Floating Fox Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Just another thing I wanted to add about this idea... Would big flags ever be wanted inside the stadium whilst the game is in action? Our culture in English football is a lot different from Foreign football where a lot of clubs have massive flags waving throughout the game. You know what English peeps can be like... You'll probably get a few middle aged blokes shouting at you because your flag is in their way and would you blame them? £25 for a seat and can't see the football. I never really understood that one, If you want the best view of the football, there is TV...going to the match live has always been about meeting your family & mates and getting behind the team vocally and financially. I know we are going to be out the way so this is a bit irrelevant, just a personal view of mine, not the group. That's fine in hindsight. However, finding a section in the stadium with enough space to situate all of you 'Fosse Boys' will be difficult. Although we obviously don't have 28,000 STH, the ones we do have are dotted all over the stadium. If the club approached me and said we have allocated your seat to the 'Fosse Boys' for their section, you'll have to find somewhere else to sit, I'd tell the club where to stick it, as would many others. I think you lot are being quite unfair in saying the club aren't fair etc. I see that you want to increase the atmosphere which is great because it is one of the main reason I haven't renewed my season ticket this season as you're aware Sam, I do like to stand and sing but it's like a library down the Walkers. At the end of the day, the club have to facilitate alot of other loyal fans who are paying out for season tickets and we do have alot of grumpy fans who would kick off about having flags in their way or having to be moved, which whether you like it or not is more than understandable. I think you lot as a group will have to give and take and not go in all guns blazing expecting success overnight because it isn't realistic, nor will it work. It would have instantly put the club off the minute they saw the word 'ultra' but fair enough for not hiding who you are. I just think you need to remember the club rely heavily on the families and 'flask brigade' for income and they, unfortunately, are the prioritised group of supporters. Fair point tiley, nice to have some proper input from you.. Another thing I dont understand is why people get really picky about their seat. As a former STH I just don't get it. In the filbert street KOP days we always had a massive flag going around the pens before kick off, would cover around 30 people if not more. any chance we can create something like this, i for one would contribute financially We have plenty of flags, including a 3 x 3 metre flag which we will be using as a "surfer" until we can have flagpoles. If you'd like to help us out financially we have a paypal account The Hull incident was most likely all Hull fans but the Luton game is still questionable, how does anyone know that a small minority of York fans didn't spark some trouble? You seem to be hinting that you know more? Not seen any reports that york fans did anything out of the ordinary.. Anyway, we are Leicester not York and as someone said, the club do seriously need to realise that one, or two peoples slip-ups should not counteract the hardwork of the majority.

Jodranadinho Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 Finally the match is tomorrow. This game has took ages to come round! The first of many outings for the fosse boys
Fosse Boy Posted 30 July 2010 Author Posted 30 July 2010 Finally the match is tomorrow. This game has took ages to come round! The first of many outings for the fosse boys Here's hoping...
Lillehamring Posted 30 July 2010 Posted 30 July 2010 It isn't harsh, it is realistic. Some people can't accept football is now a family game, whether that is good or not is another matter for another day. I am not dismissing your aims because if the Walkers had atmosphere, I would probably attend more games. However, Leicester City as a club would rather have a family of four in the family stand buying a couple of programmes, a few shirts and a Filbert Fox doll than a 19 year old going down to stand and sing for 90 minutes. it's interesting what you say about families, but you might be surprised to know that the Ultra movement can and is a family thing... Vålerenga's ultra group is 'klanen', (er, 'the clan'), and they have a small section in the corner next to the kop where all the kids gather as 'miniklanen' (they even have a web page on the OS) - and when they do the call and response chant equivalent to 'come on leicester', the call is done (maybe even started) by the kids section and responded by the adults. that's how you guarantee fans for the future and keeping all kinds of family supporters intersted. - now that's what you should send to the club....btw, the phrase on the second pic says 'even tho we are small, we are bigger than you'
