COVENTRY CITY are preparing to make an official approach for Nigel Pearson, according to national speculation.

The Daily Express reports today that the Sky Blues have put the Leicester City manager at the top of their wanted list.

The newspaper claims that Sky Blues' chairman Ray Ranson will make a formal approach for permission to speak to Pearson later this week.

This has got to be the funniest rumour I've heard for a long time.

The source URL suggests it might have come from the Football Rumours site so probably originates from a Cov fan on a wind up.

Babylon has already proved how easy it is to set up a nonsensical rumour.

genuinely concerned about this!

milan is clearly holding out to get pearson to sign on the cheap and is playing a dangerous game. i am sure coventry would be able to match his current deal at city and regarding transfer funds it is not as if we are splashing the cash on new players. pearson may well be able to get a similar budget to deal with and all of sudden the idea of managing cov isnt so ridiculous. they have the stadium and same set up as city a good manager would get 20,000 plus through the door each week at games. there is no less reason why cov couldnt get into the prem with the right management. pearson could do it which is why they allegedly want him.unpopular view maybe but mandaric isnt doing enough to show he wants him which is criminal all things considered.

Pearson to Coventry? Don't make me laugh.

Their transfer budget is even tighter than ours, they haven't the money to match us in wages, their board has hilariously unrealistic expectations of their squad and managers, their playing staff is typical mid-table fayre and their crowds are absolutely diabolical. No manager currently in the Championship with any ambition would touch the job with a bargepole.

Cotterill is out of contract in a month so there would be no payment involved.
