davieG Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Wesolowski is back at Leicester after a successful season-long loan at SPL side Hamilton. The 22-year-old, who has one year left to run on his Leicester contract, is set to move on this summer with the Foxes happy to let him leave. The news has alerted a number of clubs to his possible availability this summer with the Australian catching the eye at Hamilton. Wesolowski played a key role in helping Hamilton secure SPL safety this season and in the process netted four goals from midfield. Hamilton are thought to be keen on signing Wesolowski on a permanent basis, but face competition from a number of sides south of the border. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6160648,00.html?
Daveaway Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 The picture on the skysports page does him no justice, looks like he been eating too many pies, another one who will not be missed
Criggers Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 With the title "Chase on for Foxes ace" I was dreading having to read about the PL clubs in for Fryatt. Turns out we're just letting our midfield ace go Weso is off Solan signs/Other leavers Weso off to a league 1 outfit maybe? I know he was meant to have had a good season in Scotland but I don't think he'd cut it in Championship? Quite surprised to see Aman Verma given an extension, I thought he was one everyone expected to leave...
Carlos9 Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 If he wasn't injury prone when he first came he would of been a class player now, Bobo Blade ruined his future with us.
Jimmy Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 I'd give him pre-season and if he performs well keep him around, we ain't exactly blessed with Cm's
Edmund Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 The determination of the lad is incredible considering how unlucky he's been with injuries. Such a shame as he could've been one hell of a player. Saying that he's still only 22 (amazing) and still has plenty of years left in the game. Considering his circumstances it would be best for both parties to let him go and progress by playing as much football as possible.
Bryn Posted 18 May 2010 Posted 18 May 2010 Got a year left so we might get a bit, probably £100k max.
davieG Posted 21 May 2010 Author Posted 21 May 2010 Peterborough in transfer talks with Leicester City's James Wesolowski
Candidcamera Posted 21 May 2010 Posted 21 May 2010 He just needs an injury free time and hopefully he will show the form that made us all so excited about him. If he goes I wish him well.
bigneville Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 NP doesn't rate James at all. So this could almost certainly be true. He needs to play football, and it won't happen here at Leicester. Good luck to a talented lower league footballer.
calum_lcfc Posted 27 May 2010 Posted 27 May 2010 Spoke to my mate who is a posh fan last night and he thinks this deal is all but done.....
Onions Posted 27 May 2010 Posted 27 May 2010 Quite surprised to see Aman Verma given an extension, I thought he was one everyone expected to leave... Did well down at Histon, Yes Non-League but we all know what Pearson can do with players from Cambridgeshire.
ROS5 Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Wesolowski has signed for peterborough, on the LCFC website
sw_fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Wonder if he moved for any cash. Undisclosed fee so yes. If he didn't it would have been a free transfer.
MC Prussian Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Move's been confirmed. Wesolowski Seals Peterborough Switch Posted on: Tue 01 Jun 2010 James Wesolowski has joined League One side Peterborough United on a two year deal, signing for an undisclosed fee. Wesolowski, 22, spent the 2009/10 season on loan at SPL side Hamilton Academicals making 30 appearances and scoring four goals. The Australian born star was a product of the Foxes' Academy system, and looked set to feature from the start of the 2005/06 season, before suffering a broken leg in a pre-season friendly against Celtic. Wesolowski made his Foxes debut in January 2006 in a 2-1 defeat against Cardiff, but only made five appearances before breaking the same leg against Brighton, in only his third start for the club. Wesolowski was part of the City side that was relegated in 2008 and struggled to make an impression under new boss Nigel Pearson. The midfielder was then sent out on loan to Cheltenham Town, where he suffered a broken ankle, and Dundee United, before moving to the Accies at the start of the last campaign. Peterborough were promoted alongside Leicester to the Championship in 2009, but found life in England's second tier and were relegated straight back to League One, finishing bottom of the league. Under the stewardship of new manager Gary Johnson, Wesolowski is hoping to help the Posh to a second promotion in three years. "My goal is to help Peterborough achieve promotion and I believe we can do that. The manager was a big part of my decision to come here, he has great experience and I can't wait to play for him."
