I agree with Freund there :o:ermm:

I don't think any of it has been embarrassing, even though I'm not generally a fan of some of the artists on so far.

I've enjoyed Keane (the guy has a terrific voice live), REM and the Dido/Youssou N'Dour song at the end.

If you don't like it, sign the list and watch f*****g Carry On Abroad on the other channel.

I am a big believer in this campaign and I'm a big supporter of it, but watching Dido and Youssou N'Dour really bought it home they were amazing,

Bob Geldof said this will never happen again and it probably won't but he said that last time so hopefully it will or something similar will happen in the future if so I will definetly be going, and next time (if there is a next time) I definetly won't forget to claim my ticket!

Who cares if the concerts bad? (Which IMO is not!) what is the point in the concert? - THAT is what you have to think about! The music thats just an added bonus and its something to get people intrested and people involved!

I am sad to say it but in about 2 weeks no doubt everyone won't even remember the idea of this concert, apart from the people who really care about the campaign!

Snoop Dogg was awesome today! What a legend!

Safe.

Is that meant to be sarcastic or something? Why do people make fun of other peoples taste in music? :S

True - I would have preferred Mr Brightside.

I can't understand why The Killers were only allowed to do one song, yet Joss Stone (who I cannot stand) gets to do several?

robbie williams.... i know the guys' full of himself, but he's got some class songs, feel that he's singing at the minute, love it

best crowd response as well

Mariah and Dido, best voices of the day.

Robbie was class, as was Sting, loved UB40, infact most of the acts have been good fun to watch!

Oh, and how funny was Peter Kay just then, "Ah shut up you dickhead" lol!

Snoop Dogg was the bees knees.

The Who were fantastic.

Peter Kay's "Ah shut up you dickhead" was amusing.

Pink Floyd about to start, OH MY!!

Can't remember who else was on.

I'm sitting here wishing for Scissor Sisters to pop out and sing Comfortably Numb along with Pink Floyd right now.

That would be FANTASTIC!!

Maybe second chorus...

Why the fuk did I not get round to claiming my tickets?! :( Gutted...

It was amazing I missed the section between around 7.30 to about 8.45pm and sounded like I missed a few good bands (Snow Patrol/Joss Stone/The Killers, e.t.c)

But apart from that Hour and 15 minutes I am quite proud to say I was there in mind but not in person, been watching it straight through barr the hour and 15 mins as I said!

People and bands that really stood out for me are Paul McCartney, U2, Coldplay, Dido, Youssou N'Dour, Robbie Williams...

And the bit that really touched me and was one of the best bits of the concert was when the film was shown about the girl that had 10 minutes to live - Live Aid saved her, And it was even better because I was disputing at the time Live 8 would help with someone who was pretty sceptical it would and does work Sir Bob then shown this film and bought the girl out on stage and it just proved to them it does work - There response (One person said) "They probably just shipped her in from Camden Town" - The really annoyed me another response to me was "Yeah but thats just one person" - True that is one way of looking at it, but on the other hand how many other people will this save and help people?

Not because I want Poverty to carry on because I definetly want an end to Poverty a.s.a.p, but I really hope something like this happens again in the future.

I wasn't even there today but i'm sure everyone has had a lot of emotion watching it today (The people who care about the real reason anyway)

MAKE POVERTY HISTORY!

Thats a good idea!

Actually now you've bought that up I could see something happening when we do end Poverty! It'd be nice to do something to celebrate it!

I dont think Poverty will ever end.

If this was what everyone thinks what is the point in even trying to stop poverty?

Think positive, Trying is better than doing nothing, there are alot of determined people out there trying to stop poverty. If was can persuade the G8 to stop extreme poverty we can provide the effected countries with Money (People arguements are the money will go to waste)

Provide them with drugs that everybody deserves that way people can survive,

Give farmers a decent wage to live on, People are saying if the people in the effected countries are not prepared to work - Well? Whats the point? The famers in the effected countries don't get a decent wage because it is actually cheaper to import goods instead of selling home grown stuff.

If 30,000 people (Children) were died today we would do something to stop it, so it wouldn't happen again, We can't just stop 30,000 people dying in the effect countries just like that but we can certainly help it, we can certainly try and stop it from happening day after day...If farmers in England we're losing out on profit due to importation of goods just like in the effected countries, Our country would do something about we would make sure the farmers got a decent pay out - So why not in effected countries?!?

There are ways of stopping extreme poverty people just don't think or try hard enough - Maybe poverty will never go away, no-one knows hopefully it will but we can definetly stop certain aspects of poverty.

I watched all the way through (well, apart from flicking channels a few times when a band/singer I really couldn't stand came on).

I can't see how Dido is getting a lot of praise, I thought she was one of the worst acts (that said I really dislike Dido's music anyway so that might go someway towards explaining my feelings at that). You could tell the bands that were used to performing live a lot, Annie Lennox, Stereophonics, Travis (was quite surprised by them actually, but they got the crowd going), Robbie Williams and of course Paul McCartney definitely stood out to me as good performers. Madonna as well I suppose (grudgingly), although I didn't much like her interview afterwards, she struck me as quite up herself. From the other gigs I liked Green Day in Berlin.

Regardless of who was better and who wasn't, it was a great event and I really hope it did its job in making people realise what is going on. Sadly I still don't think that it is going to make the G8 make radical changes, it has raised the awareness of the public but I think that the 8 world leaders have probably pretty much decided already on what they'll change and what they won't. Debt will be mostly cancelled, aid will be increased slightly, trade laws will stay mostly the same.
