ousefox Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 God knows why we haven't sold him - he is a constant liability being booked all the time - just like Tiatto! That is a joke right? On Campbell, if i am correct he is out of contract in the summer. This means if he does become a decent player this season and that is a big IF, we will either have to sell him or offer him a new contract. If he is on big wages i can't see him being offered the same contract or anything like it. So i can either see him being sold in January or leave for free in the summer.
nuttytimmy Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Glad to see us scoring a few goals and, by the sounds of things, everyone having a pretty good game. Of particular note is the opportunity given to DJ, but apart from him it seems Kermit, Verma and the traillists are all being allowed to have a good go in a competitive environment. I'd much rather see that than fitness training!

I thought Blackpool would have bought him by now
Guest Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 God knows why we haven't sold him - he is a constant liability being booked all the time - just like Tiatto! But unlike Tiatto, he's a bloody good player, and was one of our best for significant periods last season. That's why we haven't sold him <_<
Flynny Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Anyone think Sousa's style of play might sort of unlock Wellens' passing game? When he played well for us it was as a tough-tackling enforcer but what we paid for was a relatively cultured midfielder.

Bert Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Can this Narborough fox retard only post 'sarcastic applause' or something? Good win, breeds confidence. I'm sure the game probably wasn't as one sided as the report may suggest. Pleased dj scored again. Always maintained he could do a job for us, and with a good pre-season I believe he can do.

I've posted it twice.

Berty boy me ol mucka. He was doing sarcastic applause to the poster because the guy was giving us old news about what the final score was and who scored the goals. We already knew the details about half an hour before
Bert Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 It was a merged topic i'd think. I just find it amusing when a twelve year old tries to act all big, because they've learnt what sarcastic means!

foxoffderby Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Mr Sousa doesn't like Gallagher does he.... You must know something we don't....I'm yet to be convinced by him £1m transfer fee, although I know hes not played his best role so far which is behiend a lone striker. He seems to play too many Hollywood passes and can't cant tackle for toffee which is why we shouldn't play him in a wide role like Pearson did.
Narborough_fox Posted 16 July 2010 Author Posted 16 July 2010 Get to bed then - it's gone 11! I'm only holiday my mummy let me stay up to 12.

Alfie Posted 16 July 2010 Posted 16 July 2010 Sounds like a good result. don't know what to make of dj from previous chats with players they didn't seem to like him very much. be interesting to see whether their views have changed. he should not be allowed to disrupt the rest of the team. good to see the youngsters doing well. chambers is a good lad nice to see his name pop up around the place. lets hope the high scoring is a sign of things to come. :-)
Guest ttfn Posted 17 July 2010 Posted 17 July 2010 Is anybody else slightly skeptical about the amount of times the 'passing style' was rammed down our throats in that match report? Surely 2 weeks is not enough time to turn City from a high-energy side who could play a bit into a Barcelona-lite?
Head Honcho Posted 17 July 2010 Posted 17 July 2010 yes it should be manned all the time if there is news so stop f**king moaning Don't be a twat all yer life.................have a day off! You never know you might like it
marbelladave Posted 17 July 2010 Posted 17 July 2010 Speculation running riot, barely a week into preseason, what fun... See no reason not to join in the fun so a few thoughts. Our midfield (who ever is actually playing) must think it's Christmas, having the ball to play with on the floor, must make a wonderful change not to see it passing by miles overhead... Everyone getting involved, even the youngsters getting a bit of gametime... DJ scoring in both outings, someone get hold of the local Blackpool paper and tell them how well he is playing... Adams at right back and Yanni in right midfield, serious experiments from Sousa or just filling in the gaps before new recruits arrive?... Love the idea of Adams at right back, feisty and energetic going forward, hopefully he can come to terms with this defending lark... All views made on the basis of not seeing one second of training let alone action, so fully informed as usual. I'm actually feeling confident and really looking forward to Palace, easy for me, though I do tend to get a nosebleed venturing south of the river...
Webbo Posted 17 July 2010 Posted 17 July 2010 OS Pre-season is the time of year when managers and players are given the licence to try something a bit different. It's no secret that Paulo Sousa has tried to change the way Leicester play since taking over from Nigel Pearson at the beginning of July, but that isn't where the experimentation ends. In the first half of City's friendly win over NK Aluminij, Nicky Adams was given a go at right back. Playing midfielders at right back is nothing new, the likes of Michael Essien, James Milner and even Steven Gerrard have played there at one point in time. Whilst Adams would be the first to acknowledge that he still has work to do there are plenty of signs that he could be a success in the role. Firstly in terms of improvement, Adams has people around him who can help his game a great deal. On the training field, Adams will be helped massively by Chris Powell. Powell has made over 750 appearances not to mention five international caps as a full back, and is determined to help Adams excel in his new position. On the pitch, Adams has the likes of Chris Weale, Michael Morrison and Jack Hobbs for company in the Foxes' backline. These three are not only very good players, but good communicators as well. As for Adams himself, he has plenty of the skills needed by the modern day full back. The way the likes of Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson and Dani Alves play means it is now crucial to be able to get forward from defence. As an attack minded player Adams could be a master of using the overlap and utilising his good delivery from wide areas. Defensively the former Bury man will improve with every training session and game he plays, and he is certainly the kind of whole hearted player that will put his all into making the right back position his own.
Narborough_fox Posted 17 July 2010 Author Posted 17 July 2010 Seems like Sousa has seen something in Adams at RB, With Powell as a coach to him I feel that he could be a very good RB if we get his defencive mentality sorted out.
