davieG Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing says he's a better player for his time on-loan at Leicester City last season. Spearing spent time out on loan at the end of the campaign aiding Leicester City's push for promotion to the top flight. The Foxes ultimately fell short at the play-off stage, but the Wirral-born schemer believes his time at the Walkers Stadium will prove beneficial in his development. "I really enjoyed it, it was very good," he told liverpoolfc.tv. "It was a massive difference from Liverpool. I've been here since I was seven, and going to Leicester they did everything completely differently. I had to get used to it. "Playing games week in week out helped me a lot, and with the expectation of reaching the play-offs and the pressure of those games, it was a great experience. "It was a massive disappointment for the club not to reach the play-off final, and a massive disappointment for the lads there because we had worked hard during the final stages of the season. Overall, I thought we deserved more than we got on the day. "It has made me a bit of a better player to go out and see what you should be fighting for every week. Now I want that hunger at my hometown club. "I hope appearing in the play-offs has shown that I can handle big-time, big pressure games. Games with a high pressure that you really need to win. At Liverpool, it's like that every week no matter who we are playing."
Corky Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Like him as a player, got some bite and showed some quality at times, his goal vs Watford proof of that.
Karljohn Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Added some bite to the middle of the park, battled well and was a different class to Oakley, all the best to the lad.
Ozwin Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 I thought he was quality, would love to see him back here.
Callabinho Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 And I hope he Does! He could have a bright future !
dandannieldanok Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 Hope he has a good career, any player that works as hard as him deserves a good career. Doesn't have the quality for a top half premier league team like Liverpool, not yet anyway.

Doesn't have the quality for a top half premier league team like Liverpool, not yet anyway. at least with Hodgson in charge he might actually get a chance one way or the other, Benitez never seemed bothered about players for the youth set up and always thought it was better to sign some third rate foreigner instead good luck to the lad would have like to see him hear again, seemed to be just opening his wings as the season ended
Lillehamring Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 ha, i thought this was going to be about Tony Spearing....
Blue fox David Posted 24 July 2010 Posted 24 July 2010 I thought he was quality here. Good luck to him, hope he gets his chance at Liverpool.
poopbutt Posted 25 July 2010 Posted 25 July 2010 good luck to him, would be more than happy to see him back here
Dylan Posted 29 July 2010 Posted 29 July 2010 Spearing to start for Liverpool tonight in their Europa League tie.
Narborough_fox Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Glad to see Spearing get a run out tonight, under Hodgson I feel he has a future at Liverpool.
Corky Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 I'm glad he's getting a chance with Liverpool. Did the right thing in joining us for a spell.
Ozwin Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Seeing him come on tonight made me feel all warm and fuzzy, it was like watching your son perform in a school play or something.
