Asha Posted 8 September 2010 Author Posted 8 September 2010 Old style 86 is always a favourite for me! Yeah, been a while since we did that too. Seem to remember the series was quite flawed though - the likes of the Williams are supremely good and some cars had the ability to finish without stopping all race, while others didn't etc. Worth considering I guess. I'd be keen on some form of F1 carset, anyway.
Brainy Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 not always Williams, i've won the WDC in a Ligier before.
isaidno Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Old style 86 is always a favourite for me! F1 1986 is boring, fact . I'd prefer to play something like 1997 or 1999.
Asha Posted 8 September 2010 Author Posted 8 September 2010 My personal choice would be either F1 07 or F1 08. Just to throw them into your thoughts. Be good to get a bit more people feeding back though
Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 What is this for next season instead of F1 2011 or is it during the Season break?
Asha Posted 8 September 2010 Author Posted 8 September 2010 What is this for next season instead of F1 2011 or is it during the Season break? There are various carsets man (Formula 1 series from the past: '86, '97, '99, '07, '08, '09 etc) or other motorsport related ones, which can be played at any time. We can start a new one pretty much anytime after the current one has finished.

I'd like to '99 or '07.

Yeah, we normally do various championships in a year, not just one. I probably confused you by calling it the '2010 Championship'...I guess I should have called it 'Season 17'.

isaidno Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Is Formula 3 still available as a car set. We could have 3 four car teams
AoWW Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Yeah, I get you know. Probably me being a bit blonde 's'nowt wrong with being blonde.
Narborough_fox Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 's'nowt wrong with being blonde. I agree. Blonde is Beautiful.
Asha Posted 9 September 2010 Author Posted 9 September 2010 JUPP: "TITLE ISN'T DECIDED!" Despite several drivers seemingly admitting the title race is all but wrapped up, favourite Ashley Jupp of the Red Bell team is trying to assure people that 'it isn't yet over'. Jupp, who is on pole for tonight's Brazilian GP and has a 40 point advantage, will be crowned champion if he leaves Interlagos with a 25+ point gap over Team Wales' Matt McCaughan, and with a 26+ point lead over team-mate Fi Ridgwell. However, regardless of other results, a 5th place finish for Jupp would guarantee the title. Even failing to achieve points, providing McCaughan doesn't finish on the podium, and Ridgwell doesn't win, the championship will be decided today. "All this talk of probable outcomes, and possibilities, and how other drivers might do can drive you crazy. I've heard lots of theoretical outcomes to tonight's race - but to be honest, all I know is that I need 10 points to wrap it up, and even failing to do it tonight I'll be in a very strong position in Abu Dhabi. It's the dream situation to be in." he told us earlier. The 18 year old has finished as runner-up in three championships in his Formula Foxestalk career, and in two of those he led the championship going into the final race. "Based on my past experience when it comes to needing a result under a pressure, I'm not allowing myself to believe it's probable that I'll win. Two retirements and I'll be relying on Matt and Fi to drop points, else I'll lose out again. I just need to pull the result out now when it matters most."

So now's the time for me to uncheck my 'battle with team-mate' option then?!
lavrentis Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 HAMMOND BACKS JUPP Mernandez driver Hammond has said he backs Jupp for the championship, 'Jupp has been a good teammate over the years and has helped other drivers to championships, now it's his turn'. Jupp is sitting at the top of the drivers championship 40 points ahead of McCaughan leading into the penultimate race. These statements come after Hammond's shock allegations over FIA corruption, Hammond refused to comment on this matter.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Jupp wins championship! Red Bell driver's Fi Ridgwell's Brazilian Grand Prix victory was over shadowed by her team-mates 3rd placed finished which guaranteed his first ever Formula Foxestalk championship at the age of 18 becoming one of the youngest ever drivers to win the championship. Jupp claimed his championship victory with a 3rd placed finish in interlagos behind Reno driver Chris Louth and eventual winner Fi Ridgewell. After staring on pole Ashley (Jupp) made a nervous start after dropping down one place behind his team-mate Fi Ridgewell. The next lap Jupp pitted to change to intermediate tires plummeting him down to 6th place which made the 2010 title looked like it could be heading to the last race. Jupp then dropped down to 7th on Lap 19, this made bad reading for Jupp, his team and his team manager Christian Horner. Meanwhile Chris Louth paced Fi Ridgwell which made everything a lot worse for the Red Bell. On lap 23 Jupp made a place back as he moved to 6th after pacing Martin Southam. At the front of the race eventual winner Fi Ridgewell took the lead from Fierce Indian driver Anthony Bates. Things had started looking a lot rosier for Horner, Jupp and Ridgewell. On lap 37 there was another change in 1st place as Chris Louth took the lead he gave up on lap 23. Lap 38 was the turnining point in Jupp's race as he took 5th place from Matt McCaughan, this meant that no matter what Jupp would be the championship winner. On lap 61 Ashley Jupp took 3rd place from Alex Cook, this would be were Jupp would eventually finish. Up front on lap 64 Fi Ridgewll took the lead that would give her the win and take her in front of Team Wales driver Matt McCaughan in the Formula Foxestalk championship as Red Bell looked to wrap up a 1-2 in the championship.
AoWW Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Thank fook he's won - he'd have been a right mardy git if he'd missed out this year.

Asha Posted 11 September 2010 Author Posted 11 September 2010 JUPP "OVERWHELMED" BY TITLE SUCCESS. Ashley Jupp was a figure of emotion and jubilation after a successful season in Formula Foxestalk. The 18 year old finally secured a drivers title in his eleventh season in the sport. After three runner-up finishes, Jupp finally managed to secure a place in the record books. "I'm so happy, you know." Jupp told us, looking evidently very emotional, "The dream has come true - and I can now call myself a champion. I'm part of the winners' club and hopefully other drivers may have more respect for me now. So many times I've screwed up in a title race so i'm delighted I've been able to hold on." Speaking of his team-mate Fi Ridgwell, and the Red Bell team which helped him to victory, Jupp said he had only good things to say. "They're amazing, all the guys - who've worked hard on the car, this is for them. And Fi, too, has been excellent. Deserved her second place in the championship so much and we've done everything right. An unbelievable season has occurred and I still don't think it has sunk in yet. Clearly reluctant to focus too much on next season, in an attempt to savour the moment, Jupp did however confirm that he would be considering a different situation. "Fi is a wonderful team-mate, and always has been, but I think it's time to partner someone else. There are loads of good drivers I've never raced with...Alex, Matt M...and then there's the new boys who I'd be very happy to team with too." He also admitted he is considering publishing an extended piece of writing about his time in Formula Foxestalk to date.
Narborough_fox Posted 11 September 2010 Posted 11 September 2010 Season review will come Monday/Tuesday.
