Edmund Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 1. King Power 2. Petronas? 3. 4. 5. It can't be Petronas. Their goverment run and only invest money in their own country
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 It can't be Petronas. Their goverment run and only invest money in their own country Liverpool?
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 What about Liverpool? Goverment backed investment....but I do agree Petronas seems a long shot Im hopeing really.
Edmund Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 What about Liverpool? China is a completely different ball game to Malaysia
Flynny Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 China is a completely different ball game to Malaysia Oh don't be so naive. They're all vaguely squinty-eyed, so confusing them is entirely forgiveable.
Babylon Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Goverment backed investment....but I do agree Petronas seems a long shot Im hopeing really. Well for starters they don't own Liverpool, secondly they have come out and denied it saying they have never even heard of the bloke and finally that's China not Malaysia.
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 China is a completely different ball game to Malaysia how?
Edmund Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Oh don't be so naive. They're all vaguely squinty-eyed, so confusing them is entirely forgiveable. and sorry babs I meant to quote foxoffderby how? Lets just say Malaysia follows a more Western style of running their government.
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Well for starters they don't own Liverpool, secondly they have come out and denied it saying they have never even heard of the bloke and finally that's China not Malaysia. really thats not what ive read. My understanding is that Liverpool will be bought by a Chinese Consortuim backed by the Chinese Goverment. its not gone through yet as Liverpool have more than 1 bid on the table. The Chinese bid is called CIC from what I've heard from a Liverpool fan yesterday...DAM DERBY have just scored. As for China not being Malaysia yes I do know the differnce I was just giving an example of a club being possibly bought by a country. Doesn't Man City have backing from Dubai or Abu Dhabi?
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 and sorry babs I meant to quote foxoffderby Lets just say Malaysia follows a more Western style of running their government. Some would disagree as its a strict Muslim country

In short I asked a friend who has worked with Petronas and said no chance purely because they only act in the interest of their own country very much like Brunei and how they run with the Sultan. If you read into Petronas you'll see they only invest in sports which are promoted in their own backyard aka F1.

Edmund Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Thats a fair point. Like I said earliar im hoping really. Like Sosban said earlier, someone off here has put two and two together by typing 'Richest Malaysian Businesses' into Google so i wouldn't get your hopes up.

foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11669_6296243,00.html clears that one up then
Collymore Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 1. King Power 2. Petronas? 3. The coner shop at the top of my road 4. 5.
Jackirius Posted 7 August 2010 Posted 7 August 2010 Its looking good 5 more businesses like King Power would be awesome. Though i highly doubt that petronas would be interested... They could but out the top 5 premiership clubs if they wanted... I doubt their would go for leicester. But its looking good!
Cheese Me Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 Presumably King Power will be the biggest / most international as they're the ones that have got the shirt sponsorship. Just speculating but I expect that if someone like Petronas or even Air Asia were involved they would be on the shirts. But who knows? Looking forward to finding out

Len Finsbury Posted 8 August 2010 Posted 8 August 2010 Not necessarily, how about the biggest party of the 5 having the stadium re-named after them, Walkers 10 year deal must complete in 2012? I thought that had been renewed.
davieG Posted 8 August 2010 Author Posted 8 August 2010 I thought that had been renewed. It was a couple of years ago, although it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that the contract could be bought out although it hardly seems worth it.
