Yeah. Judging by the fact it was the thai guy in the picture with him, makes me believe that Sousa didn't have much say in this.

It could be that sousa is trying to tie up other deals?

i thought a few of the japanese lads looked decent in the WC. if memory serves correct, this guy was one of them

Yes he was one of them. But media always talked about Keisuke Honda, Yasuhito endo and Tulio Tanaka.

Now we have a new coach : Alberto Zaccheroni ..... i don't know how he'll coach japan :crylaugh:

I hope he can build a good team with some better talents than the team in the WC. :scarf:

Abe is definately a good footballer, it just remains to see if he can cope with the rainy autumn days and low-style tackles and wrestling of the Championship.

I am fairly positive he will cope just fine, and be a good acquisition for us.

This will help sell a few shirts then. And we'll start seeing a lot of Japanese students from DMU turning up at the walkers too!

we have to go court to get him to play for us. you have to have played 75% of internationals to be get clearance , he has 71% , why do we put ourselves in these positions ?

if a club wants to appeal a work permit getting turned down previously, then it goes down to like 65% or some sugar like that

so if he's played 71% my guess is they appealed; which is why it took so long to go through

I will give the guy a chance. Doubt he will be as good as made out.

Similar scenarios so many times before though, e.g. Kaebi

don't expect stand out performances from him, he's a defensive midfielder.

that said, i'm fairly certain that he's going to be successful. e.g. makoto hasebe, who plays a similar role and was imo a player of similar calibre to abe when they were both playing in japan, has gone on to become a regular starter for wolfsburg, one of the top teams in germany. if hasebe can do it, why not this guy.

Unlike Kaebi, most of us have seen this guy play in the WC (4 matches) and he did very well - Kaebi looked good, but only you tube ( sorry that was a little harsh as I don't think he was given time to shine), IMO I think Abe will do just fine. but only time will tell if he can stick it over here in the championship

(sorry I don't know whats happened with the font's)

So where is Sousa?

Abe Pictured with Top on the website

Milan did all the talking on the website about Waghorn Signing

No new comments or pictures from Sousa

just seems a bit odd to me?

similar to signing a proven international

so how many players have we signed a few months after appearing in the world cup, with 49 caps.

the signings we are making are from pedigrees we haven't seen at the walkers for years.

any player that comes to a club can be hit or miss, but this guy genuinely seems to be the real deal

this is so far from kaebu it's untrue.

'Agree think Sousa would be in some pictures, or comments at least! Maybe he was working on some signings we haven't heard about

:dunno:

kaebi also played in the world cup (06) - granted all he did was to make a terrible challenge on luis figo but he had played at a world cup and turned up with over 50 caps as well.
