bettso Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I would prefer Robbie at right back instead of Lamey. I seen quite a lot of times that Lamey has been easily gone back by opposition's left midfielders but with Robbie at least he can try to tackle them and not just let them through like Lamey does so often. But still right back a major issue Agree with you about right back being a major issue. It must be tough to choose between the two. Nielson is historically gash but has shown good form recently whereas Lamey is historically good but has been gash recently. I'd like us to loan in a right back ideally next week. We can easily pick up a Prem right back once everyone knows who's been omitted from their respected squads.
body102 Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 If Marlon King plays for cov next Saturday we have got to sing this... Thats hilarious , put it on my facebook cos i know a few who are going , myself included . If we have same support as last year then 4500 singing that would be funny as fvck
Blanesta Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 ------------Anyone but Logan------------- Lamey----Morrison---Hobbs---Bruno ------------------Abe----------------------- ----------King---------Wellens----------- Dyer-----------------------------Waghorn -----------------Fryatt---------------------- sub1: Logan sub2: Neilson sub3: Moreno sub4: Howard sub5: N'Guessan sub6: Moussa sub7: Crncic Howard was a tough one for me to drop, as he has played OK ( not brilliant) but I would like to see the ball on the deck ( if he's on the pitch then there is always the temptation to 'hoof' ) and Wellens can always make way for N'Guessan so we can go back to a 4-4-2 with Waggy up front with Fryatt -maybe he could swap over wth Dyer so that they are both playing on their natural foot? I think this looks a well balanced side. only i think Howard should at least be on the bench, maybe leave Oakley out for this one.
LCFC_15 Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 GK: Logan (If Weale is back by then he would be number 1) LB: Berner DC:Hobbs DC:Morrison (If Tunchev is back then he would replace Morrison and then Morrison would replace Lamey at right back) DR:Lamey DM: Abe DM:Wellens ML: Waghorn MR: Dyer AMC: King ST: Fryatt Subs: S1: Ikeme S2: Moreno S3:Howard S4:N'Guessan S5: Gallagher S6:Crncic S7:Kennedy Solid Team if picked. I reckon King's best position is Attacking Midfielder. He would get goals.

The Doctor Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 okay, i'd go for: GK: Logan. LB: berner CM: morrison, hobbs. RB:neilson. MF: Abe, Wellens, King. UF: Waghorn, Dyer, Fryatt. cant leave out dyer after his astonishing performance against reading. bench: gallagher n'guessan moreno lamey ikeme oakley moussa crnic <-- or however you spell it :L we need to go out all guns blazing tbh. so your suggestion is to go with 8 subs rather than 7?

Dylan Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 GK: Weale/Logan (depending on fitness) RB: Morrison CB: Hobbs CB: Vitor* LB: Berner RDM: Abe LDM: Wellens CAM: King RW/RF: Dyer LW/LF: Waghorn ST: Fryatt Subs: Logan/Ikeme, Lamey, Kennedy, Oakley, Howard, Nguessan, Crncic. *Depending on fitness of Vitor. If he's still injured, I would put Morrison CB, and put Lamey at RB. An alternative suggestion- Put Berner at LCB, and Kennedy at LB, as i really don't want to see Moreno at CB again. What do people think of this idea of Berner at LCB, until we get one/someone gets fit? I think we should try a 4-2-3-1 kinda formation, with 2 defensive midfielders in Abe and Wellens, so we can use 3 up front, and King can attack. Think Dyer has to start with his previous performance, and of course we know Waghorn's ability, so I would use them two playing either side of our centre-striker- Fryatt. Also, would like to see Crncic on the bench, so he can hopefully get a run out towards the end (depending on situation of game). Thoughts on side?

Pushing King too far forward makes it easier for the opposition to pick him up, this was largely the case against 'boro. He is way more effective breaking late from midfield and of course he is good defensively, so for me he as to play as one of the '2' alongside Moreno or Abe (in time). This allows Gallagher to play in 'the hole' where he was so effective against Leeds and with Fryatt, Waghorn or Dyer to hit he could be very effective. As for our defence we need to get a solid central pair playing regularly, I assume this means Vitor and Hobbs, but with Vitor seemingly a permacrock and Morrison a long way off the pace at the moment this is something of a worry. Morrison (hope he comes good) and Hobbs for me, at least until we have a better option. With a solid central pairing any of our 3 possible right backs can probably do the job.
leftsideoverhere Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I'm gonna be honest and say I haven't got a clue at the moment what our strongest side would be. I'm just glad it won't be up to me.
LCFCkid Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I no everyone wants waghorn to start but I doubt PS will

sbfox Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs Berner Wellens King Dyer Howard Fryatt Waggeh Would be a massive step back IMO. I know we've made a few errors at the back that have cost us a few goals, but it looks like some of our players are learning the basics of pass and move and it'd be shame to revert to that. Anything to get past the hoofball of Pearson would be a start... I think I'd start with (like many others), Weale Lamey Hobbs Vitor/Morrison Kennedy Abe Wellens King Dyer Fryatt/Howard/Crnic (it really doesn't matter...) Waghorn I think some of us might be over-estimating how good some of our play (and players) were last year and it may take a couple of weeks to allow Sousa to get our players passing.
evs_the_fox Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 Weale Lamey Hobbs Moreno/Morrison Berner Wellens Abe King Dyer Gallagher Waghorn Subs: Logan Kennedy Morrison/Moreno/Vitor Oakley DNG Howard Fryatt As a general starting XI I want to see Fryatt in the mix too but can't decide who to leave out... for me Wellens, Gally and King must start. They all suit the style PS wants to play and, let's be honest, are comfortably the three best ball players at the club. For now, Waggy and Dyer should start too and Abe needs to get involved straight away as well so somebody needs to find a way of fitting them all in 'cos I'm struggling to! Anyhoo, away from home against the Sky Blue Scum, I'm happy with this as a starting lineup. Plenty of possession in the middle, goal threats from Waghorn, King and Gallagher with Fryatt and Howard on the bench if it does need changing.

Wymsey Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 shouldn't dicuss Vitor on here really but i'm worried Benfica will want him back as they sold two of their defenders already.

It can easily be reverted to a 4-4-2. The strike force is a mixture of pace, strengh and deadly fire power.
