Brain washing

I've already stated the indoctrination with the wee man (he's 1) and know it will be hard especially when he starts school but I'm hoping the novelty factor of supporting an unfashionable team will intrigue him. Aside from that we might have moved to Oxford by that stage and if so he'll be a junior Fosse Boy setting off a couple of flares in the lively atmosphere of the Walkers :fc:

Slightly off-topic but I recall a programme on TV, perhaps 20 or more years ago, where a reporter was visiting an old friend in Beirut - a local clergy man if memory serves.

Anyway, despite the fact the city was nearly flattend by endless shelling and air strikes one of the first things he asked the reporter was: 'Did you bring them?' At which point he handed over some LCFC programmes and other memoribilia. He then went on to lament our current form at the time and said he listened-out for reports and commentary on the BBC World Service.

He wasn't even a ex-pat. Just someone who must have felt the 'calling'.

1) Lie to them, tell them you played for city (especially during the MON years) so its in their heritage to support

2) sheets-towels-shirts-cups...everything the kids sees or smust be LCFC related

3) take them to a game now and then.... give them ice cream-crisps-chocloates and toys when you go

4) Get them to meet players, both past and present.

5) arrange for signed balls, shirts every couple of months.

6) Give them sweets everytime LCFC scores.

7) pray that we have a period of onfield success

All of the above worked on me :) from 20,000 miles away :)

My cousin lives in Stornaway (if anyone of you know where that is I will be impressed ;)) but he is a Leicester fan. No influence or anything knowing people in his family (Me) being Leicester fans had a deciding factor, he is a big football fan and went to Filbert St. with my dad once or twice and has always kept an eye out for them but a few years back he decided to follow them properly and has since been to 1 0r 2 games. There is no way off brain washing him/ her, just influence him/ her.

how've you managed to influence someone that far away? I suppose not being on the mainland helps prevent the following of rangers, celtic, manure, chelski, liverpool and arsenal but i would think that would also make it harder to make them pick a less well known team.

Younger brothers got a mate just moved from Barnsley think he's 9 anyway he's been here 2 weeks and is already a City fan due to mates he's made through playing for a team and barely a fortnight at a new school. Much to his Dads annoyance!

It's a question of returns.

Follow a big team: Lose - you get upset/angry. Win - you expect it.

Follow LCFC: Lose - you get upset/angry. Win - :trumpet::scarf::appl::beer::chant::D

haha the textbook 'no one who happens to support a big club can ever feel what WE feel' argument
