Brain washing

A bit of a random question... Say you have a child who isn't born in Leicester and you really want that child to be a Leiceater fan, how do you go about making sure they are, even if they are brought up in a strong local peer pressure envoronment such as London, Manchester Newcastle etc?

I'm not expecting a kid immediately, but I'm entering a time in my life where it might happen in the near future,. The thing is, when I talk to local people, family in law etc, they all make jokes that my future child will support "local team" This scares the hell out of me.

Is it just a case of getting them down the Walkers as early as possible and getting them a Fryatt shirt? :dunno:

lock em in a room from birth with citys greatest goals on continuous play on the telly

release em from the room after 5 years ,that should do the trick

Just get them to the Walkers.

My old man kept me as a Leicester fan when I moved up here, despite all my mates being Liverpool/Everton fans, by taking me to games regularly when I was about 5 or 6.

i have this exact problem

i grew up in Leicestershire but moved south 7 years ago. I now have a little boy who is still a baby but once he grows up and wants to go to football he will be surrounded by Pimpey fans et al and all that peer pressure.

The solution was this. At 7 hours old he was crowned the youngest ever Junior fox, when he grows up I will just tell him that because I made that decision on his behalf he can now only support Leicester. In addition I also told my wife that he will have to go to every game on the same basis!!!

You could always go down the Rugby route - Leicester are 'massive' in that sport!

I imagine it would be tough to completely brain wash outside of the leicester area, as there will be other kids in school that support other teams and the wanting to fit in will become a pressure. But most kids look up to their dad for things like this so i expect even if the child didn't support them fully, they'd have a soft spot for the foxes.

Would I be right in thinking you're assuming any new born will be male as well?

I'm a kid that was brain washed lol.

I was born in London and lived in London my whole 18 years of life but support Leicester as my dad was from there and supports them. I remember having a few Leicester shirts growing up which I wore every time I played football as it was the only football shirt I had. He took me to all the away games in London and the cup finals. I do feel like I've been brain washed but at the same time I love Leicester and very happy I support them. :)

Haha, don't think so mate. When I was a kid (say 5-10) my Mum used to take me to The Hawthorns at least twice a month (me Dad's not a big football fan), probably trying to get me to support WBA as much as she does. But living in Leicester was always gonna put me closer to City and it helped that 99% of my school mates at the time supported City. I do consider Albion my second team though so maybe it does have a slight effect!

Just use LC to get them into Football I suppose. Make sure their first games are Leicester, first shirt Leicester etc. I only support them because they were my grandad's club and he took me to my first games, bought me my first shirt with my name on and stuff when we went up to visit family in Coalville. However that was during the Martin era, i'm not sure I'd have gone for a non-premier league club at that age tbh. I live south of London so everyone here are Palace, Chelsea, Spurs, Millwall etc.

I remember being 6 and supporting villa because I liked the colour of their shirt

Ive got a lad who is almost 5 and ive tried to drill into him from day one to love football and support Leicester City. Problem is down in Cornwall all the kids just jump on the glory hunting bandwagon so the chances of him ending up supporting Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal etc is pretty high. :(

I used to get loads of stick down here for supporting Leicester but never dreamt of 'changing allegiances'.

Just sit him down at five years old and tell him "Glory hunting is for cunts". I'm sure he'll understand.

yes , and glory holes are for pricks

Thinking back on my post when I was 8 I was given a Sandwell Town shirt by my Uncle with my Surname and preffered number on the back. I loved that shirt as much as my Leicester shirt at the time, although the town shirt was also blue (possibly Royal Blue) with yellow long sleeves.

Looking back at my childhood I'm lucky to be a LCFC supporter, I was like Luke Skywalker trying to be tempted to the Dark Side !! Only I never got to play with cool laser-based weapons :(

Tell the kids life as a city supporter is like a roller coaster. Up and down up and down...... They'll sure be interested to be a fan in this respect

I support Leicester always have ,and have no connection with the city.i take my kids to games, but my daughter (10) told me last season, she supports Liverpool.i told her i will never take her to the Walkers again, and for one season i have been true to my word. All she has to do is support Leicester again, and she can come again!!

that's basically what I did with my lad as he was showing signs of supporting Man U, one of my mates bought him a Man U top for Xmas to wind me up as well. I just kept telling him Brazil are the best team in the world but you wouldn't support them in stead of England would you. It took a few months but I got him from the dark side although his glory boy mates did give him a lit of stick. He's. A regular now and hopefully a Fosse Boy of the future.

Ive got two sons (15 and 11) and as a single mum,,ive always taken my boys to city games since they were old enough to sit still and watch ,,,,just as my dad took me when i was little,,,my boys Dad is Italian but they have no interest in any Italian team at all, despite the obvious influence. I know they've taken stick at school when the other kids all support the top 6 in the prem..but mine never waiver!!!

Get them down there as early as you can, my lads live and breathe LCFC ,,,and i swear they bleed blue!

My (future) first born will have a Leicester shirt with printing... "Glory Hunting is for pricks"

Take him to a few decent aways or an area of the Walkers where there's actually a bit of atmosphere. Hundreds of geezers shouting abuse at the away fans and singing songs full of naughty words was pretty much the most exciting thing in the world when I was an 8 year old. I was the only Leicester fan in my school but never even thought about becoming an armchair cvnt after that.

Failing that, brutally sodomise him.

Get them down the walkers as early as possible

the atmosphere ( ) will get them hooked!

Thats what my dad did with me. I was quite young and had gone through the Man United, Chelsea and was then in the Liverpool phase when my dad took me (he is a lifelong leicester fan) to Filbert Street and then the walker stadium. And ive been hooked ever since.

Instead of nursery rhymes chant Leicester songs to him or her. If that doesn't work you could always lie to them and tell them that the doctors have called you and have told you to tell them they have to support Leicester or they will become ill.

I did the chanting thing with my eldest son. He fooking hates football now so perhaps the second option might be a winner. :)
