No, it's not the only way women can be taken seriously in sport, just look at the WNBA, women's tennis, athletics etc. It is symptomatic of a culture that only values women as sexual objects. It's not much different here as Victoria Pendleton wins a gold medal at the Olympics and one of the first things she is asked to do is a swimwear/ nude shoot for a lads mag.
