Mee Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 You won't have to cope with those strange feelings much longer, just until a quarter to 5 tomorrow afternoon. May 2015 when our unbeaten run ends and we lose in the champions league final, having won it the following 4 years.
Salieri Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 That would have worked better if you had deleted the words tomorrow and afternoon.
Karljohn Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 I remember Matty Fryatt taking the piss out of him at Villa Park.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 Karljohn you obviously on about the Carling Cup game. We robbed them that night and they dominated us. Davies though is a player I do rate highly !!
Lillehamring Posted 15 October 2010 Posted 15 October 2010 It's not about paper though is it unfortunately but I see what you mean. We don't pose enough attacking threat besides Waghorn, Dyer and King. We are crying out for a big goalscorer, QPR have Mackie and Helguson with Taarabat taking the piss in midfield. I'm sure Sven has realised this, and until we get a quality striker I can't see us being a dominant force in this league. Steve Howard will not propell us into the Premiership!! i wouldn't be surprised if sven is hoping to get fryatt performing again, he looked cracking when he got those 2 goals, i reckon he'll be in sven's plans. and i totally agree about howard.
ithuriel Posted 16 October 2010 Posted 16 October 2010 Sven has had basically 1 friendly, tomorrow is his first league game and he is going to look at these players now to see who is for the chop and who is worth keeping over this and the next couple of games. I expect to see us signing a striker and possibly a midfield player. One thing is for certain, if players do not perform they will lose their place, the new owners and Sven do not want passengers who will only perform every other game.
shen Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Hmmm Richard Dunne went off injured yesterday. Lets hope it isn't too serious so we've got a chance to prolong the deal
The Doctor Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 Hmmm Richard Dunne went off injured yesterday. Lets hope it isn't too serious so we've got a chance to prolong the deal well they brought on a youth teamer in that clark so if houllier would rather have a youth teamer as back up than davies it would suggest he doesn't rate davies all that highly/doesn't want davies in his squad.
Asherz Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 alot of these players gew up watching sven manage england.. they most likely have dreams of playing for england.. sven has managed lazio in there hay day what player would not want to play under sven.... obviously not like the likes of messi, villa, aguero etc etc... but you get my drift if we can keep hold of him i think he will do wonders for us in the long run...if we hit the premiership maybe lure some top internationals to us in time.
shen Posted 17 October 2010 Posted 17 October 2010 well they brought on a youth teamer in that clark so if houllier would rather have a youth teamer as back up than davies it would suggest he doesn't rate davies all that highly/doesn't want davies in his squad. He probably rates him highly enough to have him as back up for his promising youth player. Besides, the reason for choosing a youth teamer over a bit-part player shouldn't be that surprising when considering the new 25-man squad rule in addition to the European squad rules.
