bald reynard Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 I know it's a bit early, but it would be good if we could have some ratings posted for the Swans game - perhaps some poor s*d lives in Wales, or someone has an i-phone or Blackberry !?
Thracian Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 From the sounds of the radio commentary I'd doubt if the combined total, including substitutes, will add up to 100. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if one of the Fosse crowd is Man of the Match. And my pal Big Alex, could well be voted "most dangerous attacker" for his verbal enthusiasm. Even if he doesn't get a point he might tie for the honour! Assuming he went, of course!
Guest ttfn Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Just got back from a disastrous day: Weale 5 - Arguably could have saved the first - difficult to tell from where we were. Naughton 5 - Didn't get forward enough Davies 4 - Looked like a bottom end of the Championship centre back today and should have buried his header. Hobbs 4 - Not the same as last season, looked shaky throughout. Cunningham 4 - If this guy's better than Bruno Berner I'm the Queen of Sweden. Why Eriksson left him on when he went off for treatment for nearly 10 minutes is beyond me. Moussa 2 - Totally ineffective, lost the ball nearly every time he got it. Oakley 2 - Hopeless today, truly hopeless. I lost count of the number of poor touches and wayward passes he made. Wellens 6 - A few misplaced passes but showed a determination to get on the ball. King 4 - Not in the game. When he was he was too easily pushed off it. Dyer 6 - Looked dangerous on the all too rare occasions he got the ball. Fryatt 3 - Not very good today. A couple of really nice touches but didn't work the centre backs nearly hard enough. Not sure what happened with his first half header. subs: Abe 5 - Still looks like he has no idea what's going on but a couple of lovely passes showed promise. Waghorn 5 - Worked hard but his technique isn't up to standard. Could barely control the thing. Morrison 5 - Didn't really notice him.
rabbid Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Morrison 5 - Didn't really notice him. Did you want him to have a fooking neon sign over his head or something? You dint notice him but gave him a 5 which kind ov makes a joke outta the rest ov your scores How can you score Fryatt less when he didnt get any service or anything?
Wymsey Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 So in conclusion we were bullocks Not looking forward to next week. Sven out (purely a publicity stunt.)
Guest ttfn Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Did you want him to have a fooking neon sign over his head or something? You dint notice him but gave him a 5 which kind ov makes a joke outta the rest ov your scores How can you score Fryatt less when he didnt get any service or anything? Look, I like Fryatt. But today he didn't work hard enough. Which I was surprised by, new manager and all. Part of receiving service is working hard to get in to the right positions. That said, I did feel sorry for him at times.
exmoor fox Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Felt we went for a draw today but we were lucky not to be two down at half time and could nt understand why no change of tactics once they scored at the beginning of the second. Even when waghorn came on he was played in a withdrawn position or advanced midfield even though you felt at that time we still had the chance to get something from the game. I would have said no one was better than a 5 today except maybe Dyer. Fryatt suffered a lack of service but look slow and unwilling to chase so 4 for him. Wellens and Oakley managed to put us in trouble on numerous occassions too often getting cought in possession, and hobbs had a poor start so 4 for them. Moussa 4. The rest 5. Cunningham looks a good prospect but thought bruno playing well at the moment so suprised that he was overlooked. Abe looked ok and got some good crosses and and passes in and would like to see him given a chance in the centre. Waghorn played with energy and seemed to cause them some problems when he came on.
talkfoxes.com Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Every player in today's team was shit!, to be honest the players didn't looked bothered. I mean in the last few minutes normally a team would be battling out to get a goal, but they seem to took there time looking like Leicester were the winning side. Matty looked tired after half an hour should have been brought Waghorn on for him & left King On. RUBBISH GAME SPENT NEARLY £200 on this match & this what they so for it.
Houdini Logic Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Did you want him to have a fooking neon sign over his head or something? He was only posting his opinion mate - you can ask a question without being so aggresive
phillthefox Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 must say i wouldnt give a rating to any player today except prehaps naughton 7 long drive there and back abused by some little scrotes on way out loads of money spent and for the worst performance i have seen all season and for a long time can i also say the new loan signing was gash, first game fair enough but i dont see what he will add to our squad.....
Karljohn Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 the worst performance i have seen all season and for a long time Did you manage to get to Burnley away?

Judging by that, the one player who shows consistently when we're struggling is Wellens - and it was the same on another shit day at Burnley. When are we going to approach away games with the attitude of winning them? We've managed it twice against Leeds - another supposedly "tough place to go" and, with three points available for winning, what's the sense in laying off and playing for a point? It's not even as if we've shown any indication that we can keep a clean sheet this season anyway! Even when we were using the same players Pearson had. Put simply our defenders are not quick enough to deal with fast attackers, Naughton excepted. Finnegan doesn't like the idea but I'd be attacking on all cylinders and giving the opposition defenders something to think about rather than presenting ourselves like some sort of sporting punchball. And Howard is a must in helping us to do that because it is glaringly obvious that we have no-one else capable of winning and holding the ball. With Howard in the side you have the choice of whether to play pass-and-move or humph the ball forward to by-pass a pressing midfield. Without Howard, and with just one lightweight man up front, the opposition can press as fast and tight as they like and, with reinforecements from their mostly unoccupied backline.
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Finnegan doesn't like the idea but I'd be attacking on all cylinders and giving the opposition defenders something to think about rather than presenting ourselves like some sort of sporting punchball. Yes, I refuse to persistently slander one of our most successful managers in the last two decades now that he's gone and it's futile ergo I must, clearly, advocate 7 - 3 - 0. Please, oh God please, let us bring back Craig Levein so we can play football how it was truly meant to be played. That's why I've spent the last four or five years on Foxes Talk bigging up Mark De Vries, Steve Howard and all of our big long-ball lumping; why I was so in love with John Toshack's negative five man defence and why my favourite players all happen to be huge, big units with no pace what so ever....
FoxyPV Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I'm just going to stop being hopeful before matches. The disappointment after most matches is really starting to get me down. You know it's bad when a West Ham fan (my bro) can slag you with impunity about being shit.

My criticism of Pearson's caution was expressed loud and clear while he was here. And I don't ever remember denying he was "successful" in comparison with recent managers. However, to the point in question, if you now actually see yourself as an advocate of attacking football - as opposed to Pearson's rather less expansive style - then I'll stand corrected. It's just that I seem to remember you sniping at my declared commitment to attack. Must be senility creeping in.
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I have now and always have been (not that I demand anyone to be paying attention or to know my views inside out, I just don't expect them to make silly assumptions, either) an advocate of passing football and attacking football. I've spent hours on here bemoaning our lump-ball and our over reliance on "traditional" target men. My biggest problem with the majority of your views expressed on Foxes Talk is that you seem to be of the earnest belief that you're some sort of sporting visionary and that you and only you seem to be on the TRUE level of reality, while everyone else is getting it wrong. The countless useless players you've preached the ability of just because they had good touch or a good turn of pace, people who we can't possibly even debate the ability of because quite frankly the depths they've fallen to after leaving Leicester is proof enough of their true level. And the blasting of every, single manager we have that doesn't conform to the strategies YOU think we should be playing. At the end of the day, I want to see Leicester play every, single game like we played Cardiff at home. Quick, positive, ball on the deck, exciting. But more importantly than that I want to see us winning games and scoring goals - Nige' brought that, Sousa didn't, Ollie didn't, Levein didn't, Kelly didn't. That's why I - like almost everyone else - was delighted with Pearson's reign here and why I'm perpetually bemused by your constant negativity. Be realistic, what on Earth were the alternatives? I mean even in regards Sven I think you seem to be forgetting his tenure in charge of England. England were successful, they were fit, they were organized and they were functional. But they definitely were NOT a flare, passing, attacking team. If you think Sven's going to turn us into the Arsenal of the Championship you're in for a sterling shock. Can we expect you to be lamenting "boring, boring Sven" in six months time - regardless of whether or not we're sat in the top six?
Anish Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Another thread degenerates into an argument between Thracian and A.N.Other (this time Finnegan). It's happened plenty of times before and will continue to happen for as long as Thracian makes sly digs at anyone that dare challenge his view and posts completely off-topic on every thread (Swansea ratings anyone? Oh yes, Thracian didn't go to the game but still wants to post here). Finnegan - for what it's worth I think you're right. However, there really is little point arguing with Thracian, he'll twist half of what you say and won't acknowledge the other half. Now, could somebody who actually went to the game please put this thread back on track...
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I went yesterday and i'm not even going to bother with ratings every one was crap. Abe should be given one start and if he plays like he did yesterday he should never be allowed to wear a city shirt again. He looked lost the whole time. Fryatt had no service all day and only really started to get in to the game when Waggy came on to support.
Finnegan Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Finnegan - for what it's worth I think you're right. But it amuses me and gives me a feeling of smug superiority.
ACF Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I'm aware. But it amuses me and gives me a feeling of smug superiority. Coz the internet is some serious shit.

In terms of people "getting it wrong" - you've rested my case for me with all those you've mentioned but i don't claim to be a visionary at all I just know what I want to watch and what made Leicester entertainingly successful at one time. As for Sven, we'll see. He's got the clout to get most who he likes so he won't have much in the way of excuses should he last the six months you've mentioned. And if his football is boring he won't get anymore sympathy from me than anyone else. I don't want to watch negative football thanks.

Not counting mine there are 19 posts on here and one set of ratings which just about sums up the effects of negative football. You being someone who makes "sly digs" an artform I won't bother arguing with you on the subject but, one thing i know for sure, is that Finnegan doesn't need you to hold his hand.

Tell your brother that there is a statue of John Lennon at Liverpool airport, and on there is written 'Above Us Only Sky'. To which someone added (probably an everton fan) below us only West Ham!

Yes I was hoping for a few more actual ratings when I started this off. There must have been a few more FT'ers at the game. As you say, perhaps no one could summon up the energy to post some ratings - after such a dire game.
