Floridafox Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 Preston (H), Barnsley (A), Sheff Utd (H), Derby (H), Bristol City (A) - next 5 games should pretty well define the rest of the season; 4 out of 5 against lower half opposition, 3 of them at home and Derby at the Walkers - should be nothing to be scared of in any of these, Sven

m00nie Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 well them 11 points we will get should do us good...
Donut Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 Might be a cliche and all, but anyone literally can beat anyone in this league Anyone who thinks this is an easy run of fixtures should possibly have a think about why a quarter of the way into the season we are fourth from bottom. We had an 'easy' game away to Portsmouth who had a grand total of 2 points from 7 games and had scored just two goals. We all know what happened next. So lets take it one game at a time
ajthefox Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Might be a cliche and all, but anyone literally can beat anyone in this league Anyone who thinks this is an easy run of fixtures should possibly have a think about why a quarter of the way into the season we are fourth from bottom. We had an 'easy' game away to Portsmouth who had a grand total of 2 points from 7 games and had scored just two goals. We all know what happened next. So lets take it one game at a time it's a cliche but it's a very valid one and I think our form at times shows how quickly things can change, so it is important not to get too carried away with anything because every game in this league is different and one result doesn't mean you can't be turn upside down the next week. However, I see the point the OP is making. If we were to come out of this with say 9/10/11 points it would be nothing special and to an extent going on a winning streak although would be great, wouldn't mean we are on track for promotion. But, on the contrary, I think getit's key that we get a good few points soon. If we start picking up two/three wins every five or so matches, we climb the table and can maybe begin to build on it but if we don't, I think it's more likely we could get stuck in a relegation scrap for the whole season.
dogadug Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Why? Because its going to be proving whether we're good enough or not to push for those play-off places
FrankieADZ Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 im just hoping we can win the lot. *touch wood, fingers crossed*
teblin Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 im just hoping we can win the lot. *touch wood, fingers crossed* Get Davies back in the team a fit vassell and we might have a chance.
sdb Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I agree, and said before Swansea (which I didn't expect anything from)..that the 4 games following would define where our season is heading. 8 points plus and we could be going somewhere, 6 or less and wait for next season, imo.
