Tilley Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 The thread on Arsenal Mania has the same amount of pages as it does on this forum, shows the overdramatic nature of the article.
Tommeh Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Excellent debate on Talk Sport about this now. Collymore very worked up by it all. My view.... we, as fans continue to pay it, clubs will keep putting them up. Football's bubble needs to burst soon.

On the other hand, while fans are prepared to pay it, this means by definition they think the product is worth it.

LET ME FINISH SAGGERS, LET ME FINISH. I'm sure a few on here will be having a jizzfest over the comparisons to the German football league
Tommeh Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 On the other hand, while fans are prepared to pay it, this means by definition they think the product is worth it. At Arsenal yes, Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool....Clubs who it's fair to say attract alot of money men, suits, tourists etc. The working class fan, the fan who have been in this game for 100+ years, can't and don't pay it hence thousands of empty seats and attendances way down across the board.
Tilley Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Arsenal still manage to sell out week in, week out, have thousands on their ST waiting list and thousands of red and silver members. £94 isn't acceptable. However, category A games aren't every week, infact there isn't many at all and the upper central is a small pocket of the stadium. Obviously Arsenal fans are paying for the fact they are in a brand new stadium which hasn't been paid off yet but it still sells out. People comparing Arsenal to clubs outside of London and at a different level in the league etc is stupid because anything in London comes with extra £££.
Karljohn Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 You're not wrong there mate, part of the problem I'm sorry to say is us fans showing the willingness to pay that sort of money. A few games with a half-filled ground might force the powers-that-be to reassess their approach but it seems that the mentality in this country is to complain about a situation and then blithely accept it.
Fosse Boy Posted 22 November 2010 Posted 22 November 2010 Clubs are criminal for charging it, but you're an even bigger idiot if you're prepared to pay it.
Finnegan Posted 23 November 2010 Posted 23 November 2010 The thread on Arsenal Mania has the same amount of pages as it does on this forum, shows the overdramatic nature of the article. 'Cos the forum's probably full of other "commuters" living in the midlands.
1884 Posted 23 November 2010 Posted 23 November 2010 Arsenal V Wigan next Tuesday in the Carling Cup is only £10.....
Durnerz Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 The prices quoted on this thread for a single match ticket are scandelous. I've just come back from Germany and my travel within the region coupled with what i paid for two matches doesnt even touch what arsenal are charging for one ticket. And I can predict which would be the better fan experience.

Durnerz Posted 24 November 2010 Posted 24 November 2010 Where did you go? And what places stood out in particular? I went to Dortmund as a base, lovely city, very vibrant with quite a lot of young people and an amazing christmas market. Went to Rot-weiss Oberhausen vs Armenia Bielefeld at Oberhausen's niederrhien stadium, very pleasent people and get behind their team very well do the home support. Went to Cologne as well for a day and the other game was in Monchengladbach for Borussia vs Mainz finishing 3-2, sat in the nordkurve next to the ultra's, incredible experience. German football seems to be all about the fans, they really are passionate and it feels like your appreciated rather than being ripped off. Can't wait to go back.
