topharry123 Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 some things need to be left out of a football ground, and this song is one of them. Love him or hate him, Cloughie was one of the greatest British managers of all time, and I think he deserves respect from any fan out there. It's all well to hate him when he's at the reigns of a rival, but when he's gone there's no need. Distasteful and disrespectful. Let's not stoop down to their level of singing the disrespectful songs.
rams r4 sh*ggin Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 my gut says disrespectful cos he was a legend in football but head says after what they did re clarke then fook em
Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2010 Posted 30 November 2010 So now we should feel bad for being disrespectful to Forest fans? Pfft. Clough was a great manager but he was an arsehole
Guest BlueBrett Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 It's hardly disrespectful to say somebody is dead when they are. Not the best song in the world but if it gets a rise out of idiot Forest fans it has got to be worth singing every now and then.
Finnegan Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Let the dead rest. It's despicable making jokes about those who have passed away. There's really no humour to be gleaned from it what so ever. lol
Asha Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Dont shit your pants health and safety. Was funny. In all seriousness. Things like this get sung at footy games, like the she said no sven song. Not sure what it's got to do with Health and Safety, but ok. I thought it was really unnecessary. I don't think it's particularly horrific or anything, but to call it funny? Hardly a piece of sublime witty brilliance, is it? Plus it was aired when we played Forest and Derby last season so it's not exactly new either.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Disrespectful, tasteless song in all fairness. Forest fans have no moral high-ground to take after their actions re: Clive Clarke but that does not excuse us singing such nonsense. amen, mate. Hardly witty. We've got plenty of better songs but as per most would rather waste their time with boring toss like that. some things need to be left out of a football ground, and this song is one of them. And you are the people who moan that the atmosphere is not the same as the 80's and 90's yet moan at any anti-team songs. Very funny. Would have wound some of the Forest fans up a treat. Job done.
RedHux Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 The thing is though very few songs wind anyone up. Unless the're downright offensive nobody cares. It's just one of those cringeworthy songs (of which we have a few as well) that's really nothing more then embarrassing. I've always found songs that are original and have some humour to them are much better at putting the opposition fans in their place.

Fox92 Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 A real football fan wouldn't sing songs about the legends of the game, such as Brian Clough, George Best etc. Didn't we have a minute silence before the Forest game last season, and the Forest fans respected that. They may not have even known the player, but they still respected it.
stripeyfox Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Remember Clive Clarke?? Calling us cheats even after Calderwood had explained what happened? I remember clearly being in the lower Bridgford that evening, near the corner with the Main Stand. When Colin Calderwood announced that the game was being abandonded due to a Leicester player being taken ill, I was more outtaged by the Leicester fans who cheered (that a game we were losing was being abandoned) and in my opinion, that was what prompted the negative reaction from the Forest fans.

I don't remember many people cheering to be honest, it was just mass confusion. I phoned a mate who was listening at home to see if he knew anything (after our 40 minute half time!) and he said carl cort had a heart attack, "lazy bastard wasn't even playing!" etc. Then it was Martin Allen had had a scrap/killed Colin Calderwood, so many rumours, nobody there understood how serious it was at the time. Even with the players out on the pitch and Allen with them it looked like he was doing that thing where you try and embarass the players on the pitch at half time...
Edmund Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 RedHux to become BlueHux. He's definitely a closet Leicester fan and speaks more sense than 90% of our own fans
RedHux Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Pffft! I'll have you know when you cut me I bleed forest colours.
Dan Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Pffft! I'll have you know when you cut me I bleed forest colours. Can I slice your neck?
RedHux Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Can I slice your neck? I'll roshambo you for it. I'll go first.
Dan Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 I'll roshambo you for it. I'll go first. Deal. Nah in fairness though, I totally agree with your mentalty, shame we don't have more fans actually like you.
orangecity23 Posted 7 December 2010 Posted 7 December 2010 Pffft! I'll have you know when you cut me I bleed forest colours. You should get that checked out at the doctors. Red blood with white shorts in it is a potential number of dangerous medical conditions, some of which can require a transfusion of shorts free blood.
RedHux Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Nah in fairness though, I totally agree with your mentalty, shame we don't have more fans actually like you. Football fans are an odd lot in general. You should get that checked out at the doctors. Red blood with white shorts in it is a potential number of dangerous medical conditions, some of which can require a transfusion of shorts free blood. I have more trouble when a go away from home, I go all anaemic.
BoneDog Posted 8 December 2010 Posted 8 December 2010 Not a good song in my opinion, and if it is true that it was sung against Derby last season in front of Nigel Clough then that is pretty vile. I love the Cloughs.
Maybes Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 Unfortunately our club has its fair share of idiots just like everyone else. Appalling chant.
LCFClukeLCFC Posted 9 December 2010 Posted 9 December 2010 dont like it to be completely honest brian clough did no bad to us
