Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Am I being overly miserable and cynical or am I somewhat justified in this irritating me more than flash trends normally do? The notion that people are all mindlessly swanning about imitating each other is nothing especially new, nor is the internet being a breeding ground for this sort of shit. But when you throw in charity then something about it irks me. I mean what proportion of people who've changed their Facebook picture and delighted in their own good deed have actually gone ahead and made some sort of donation to the NSPCC? It's "about the message" and it's "raising awareness", is it? How many people needed to be told what the NSPCC was or that some people are horrible to their children? Not exactly solving the problem - it's just perpetuating the myth that charity these days is more about being seen to be doing something than actually doing something.
Guest lcfc80 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 it pissed me off more that I couldnt see who was online as they are all cartoon picture now
Zingari Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 yes, someone needs to get the message across and raise people's awareness of this finners for bellwether
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Author Posted 5 December 2010 Oh - but Bilo's did make me smile, purely for the incredible irony (I assume it was intentional.)
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Author Posted 5 December 2010 yes, someone needs to get the message across and raise people's awareness of this finners for bellwether Alright I've had an idea. We'll all change our signatures to a picture of a fit Asian bird, that way we'll symbolise something and raise our awareness for the need for.. something else.
Asha Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Any excuse to change my pic to the best clique in history. Pisses all over any BKRS or MTWG type effort.
Guest Bilo Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Oh - but Bilo's did make me smile, purely for the incredible irony (I assume it was intentional.) I'm amazed that you're the only person to pick up on my subversive undermining of the latest Facebook craze. I expected a bollocking or two by now. I'm with you to be honest. Changing your Facebook profile pic will do bugger all by itself and I imagine that 90% of those who've changed their Facebook profile pic to suit have done nothing but that action.
DB11 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I haven't changed my profile picture, but I was gonna make it Pedobear for jokes
Daggers Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Am I being overly miserable and cynical or am I somewhat justified in this irritating me more than flash trends normally do? People act like sheeps shock. It's no biggie. I haven't changed my profile picture, but I was gonna make it Pedobear for jokes That would have been hysterically original.
Tilley Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I haven't changed my profile picture, but I was gonna make it Pedobear for jokes Someone on my friends list has Peadobear.
Daggers Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Someone on my friends list has Peadobear. I bet he is so zany and wacky.
DB11 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Someone on my friends list has Peadobear. I knew it wasn't original
Tilley Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I bet he is so zany and wacky. He's quite the character...... /not.
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Author Posted 5 December 2010 Pedobear is too obvious. Kenny was brilliance. When the person on my list explained to me why everyone had adopted a cartoon character I did have a good giggle over Rob's South Park attempt. I had to explain why it was amusing. <_<
Daggers Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 You wouldn't catch me using a half-arsed attempted at cartoon subversion. In other news, The Ashes in slow-mo Hi-Definition is sexual. Especially with wine.
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Author Posted 5 December 2010 ... you do all now realise the irony in you all using this thread to copy the idea of posting an ironic cartoon?
Tilley Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 I wish someone else would post a picture which shows child abuse. I mean, after looking at the previous attempts, I am just dying of laughter.
Zingari Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 sorry , no we're sheep , we don't do irony , only baathos
lildave3 Posted 5 December 2010 Posted 5 December 2010 Any excuse to change my pic to the best clique in history. Pisses all over any BKRS or MTWG type effort. Errr....what the frick?
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2010 Author Posted 5 December 2010 Spinelli wasn't a proper Ashley, she was too badcore.
