Guest CL Blue Army Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 The scoreboard currently at Leicester is small and can be hard to read when there is a lot of sun shining onto it. Who thinks that a new "screen" should be installed which has replays etc. Blackburn, Wolves, Reading and Everton all have screens as well as much more. Addmitedly, the point of view would be where to place it, however, in a corner such as on the south-east stand corner, where attendances have been low in that area. Discuss...
john_lcfc Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 hmm good idea but it would be tempory then unless seats are taken out
Jonbluefox9 Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 It's a good idea but I think a club official has said before that we can't afford big screens at the moment and that was whilst we were in the Prem nevermind now in the Championship for the second season running.
Guest CL Blue Army Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 Yes, I;'ll agree with that. But if we could earn some money, it will be a good purchase I believe.

Guest CL Blue Army Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 Yep! We sure could..... such as at Wolves i know that whenever they get a corner they put an advert up and throw ins etc. I think it should be researched. We can not fill the stadium ... Would you want to get rid of the seats or get a temporary screen and give it a trial at first and see fan's opinions. Where would you place it?
Jonbluefox9 Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 Yes, I;'ll agree with that. But if we could earn some money, it will be a good purchase I believe. Yes, I think it would too. You could show highlights of past games to get the fans going and you could even show pictures of the players in the tunnel so the fans know they're on their way out. I think it would create a massive roar everytime.

Guest CL Blue Army Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 Indeed ---- would increase the atmosphere! I was wondering ... what about the area between L1 and the away fans - when they are segregated theres an area there where it could be placed! And then the away fans would struggle to see it.

Where would you place it? 116431[/snapback] I think that's a major problem, where to put it? I'm trying to think where they are at grounds I've been to. Reading's is tucked at the back of one of the corners, Blackburn's is in an open corner, Chelsea have one at opposite corners suspended from the roof and Charlton's is in an open corner too. You've got to be looking at how Southampton and club's like that have their's.
Stuliasz Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 How about do a similar thing to Tottenham and just replacing where the scoreboards are now?
Mark Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 This was during an England game, but it was at Saint Mary's. That ground is near enogh the exact same design as ours, so i think we could just replace the current scoreboards with something like that perhaps. But I think it'll cost to much, we need to spend all the money we have on as many decent players as possible right now.

You could always extend it a bit below or above the roofline I guess.

hinds12 Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 i think that we should wait untill we are in the premiership before we introduce anything like this to the stadium
Foxes_Trust Posted 27 May 2005 Posted 27 May 2005 We discussed this with the club well over 18 months ago following a similar suggestion from a member That kind of screen costs £750,000 Think the vast majority of fans would rather that money was spent on players to keep us up in the Prem once we got there, rather than watching 'highlights' of numerous defeats

Tomassi Posted 28 May 2005 Posted 28 May 2005 i remember when Leicester City could have purchased a screen with the stadium it would cost £500,000 each!!

Newcastle_Fox Posted 28 May 2005 Posted 28 May 2005 De Vries wayward shooting could be harmful to the £500,000 scoreboard!

Bedford Fox Posted 30 May 2005 Posted 30 May 2005 I would love a screen but i dont think it will happen.
