Haydos Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Just seen it, absolute joke. Apparently 20% of the pitch was 'frosty' and there were fears for the players safety. Complete farce, no other words for it. In the past no so meh, but things like this will keep happening and people will keep getting pissed off.

Thracian Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 We weren't seeing yesterday's conditions the referee was. But the situation relating to ice could have been completely different to last week. With soft snow a pitch can be quite playable but with packed, solid and slippery ice the situation could genuinely dangerous. Just sounds to me like City fans trying to justify the sour grapes of last week with the totally unrelated situation this week.
CosbehFox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Not really Thrac. There were three pitch inspections before our game as they were concerns over it freezing in a particular area. Considering it was minus eight overnight before our game and it was just beyond freezing for no more than three hours...I suppose there is no connection.

Considering it was minus eight overnight before our game and it was just beyond freezing for no more than three hours...I suppose there is no connection. Exactly. Temperatures over the last few days in Ipswich haven't been far below freezing yet before our game temperatures had been well below freezing (as low as -10, at times) for many days. I find it very hard to believe that the pitch was more frozen yesterday than it was when we played. Add to that the fact that there was also snow forecast for just before and during our game (no snow was forecast yesterday) and it all equates to a complete farce.
MOT Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 If you had won you would not have been asking this question. I've played in worse, as i'm sure many of you have. Although I do think the ref totally bottled it when he sent the players off, no doubt in my mind that he was going to abandon it until Keane raised his voice.
Brainy Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 If you had won you would not have been asking this question. That goes for every football fan though. If we'd won i'd think we were lucky that the game had finished and wasn't called off, I just wouldnt be so vocal about it.

Don't you have your own forum?
