themotivator Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 murdoch can fack right off with his shite television bag of w****
smudger63 Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Complete joke and now we have lost 3points and have 4new injury worries. Keane must of paid the ref there is no way that would of happend in the prem. Well i don`t know if keane would have paid the ref, but i`m sure if the ref is stuck in ipswich tonight, he will be very well looked after by ipswich town football club!
Lisburn Fox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Lost, we just move on no analysis no scoring the players or Sven it was the same for both teams and the game should have been binned at around 1/2 hour as it was dangerous and now the ref has made the championship a laughing stock.
Kingylcfc Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 5 players injured because of slipping in the snowTheirs no doubt this game should not have been played The only reason it carried on was because they were 3-0 up and their managers job was on the ropes, it was abvious ten minutes after the second half that the ref wanted to call the game off by the look of Keanes face when he went over to speak to the managers. I guess complaining to the ref changed his mind. who were the 5 players??? Vitor and Davies...who else???
Corky Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 It should've either been called off before or played to its conclusion with no interruptions. What the near 20-minute delay achieved was anyone's guess.
Wymsey Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Keane = Knobhead for his antics regarding this situation
Ricey Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Keane = Knobhead for his antics regarding this situation I actually thought he was pretty fair in his post-match interview, admitted had it been the other way round he also would have been applying pressure to the ref.
The Doctor Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 who were the 5 players??? Vitor and Davies...who else??? gallagher, i think naughton pulled up and so did kirkland
Jackirius Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Just got back and it should have defiantly been called off. It was very dangerous and there were alot of players slipping off the ball aswell as on. If it wouldn't have been on sky and Ipswich wouldnt have been 3-0 up then it would have been called off, was bollocks.
Salieri Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 Yes, it should have been called off at half-time and the travelling City fans given their money back. Because trading standards surely require that two teams turn up for a football match and it was abundantly clear that there was only one - or at least only one that was interested. What a pity the referee couldn't have called it that way and given Ipswich the points without the need for the fans and Leicester's television viewers to endure further punishment. No problem with the history books either. Ipswich win by a cop-out! It's funny. Ipswich could pass the ball accurately, keep their feet and shoot on target. So what was so different for our side? Hell you won't find as many sour grapes even in French vinyards two months before the harvest. Dont always agree with you Thrac, but this is fair comment.
Unit Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 SHUSH, I'M PAUSING THIS THREAD FOR 10 MINUTES TO SEE IF IT GETS BETTER. Absolute shit. if it wasn't on sky it would never have been played.
Aylestone Fox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 The game shouldnt have been started Sky rules the roost again... Kirkland, Naughton, Davies, Gallagher & Vitor all injured for playingin in conditions that werent to our style of play, Ipswich adapted better and work rate won in the end against footballing ability. Sky and money wins again,...the game is becoming a joke,..!!

stockyfox Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 These days, I am of the opinion that the standard of refereeing during a match has deteriorated quite significantly. There is a lack of consistency in their general interpretation and the level of punishment dished out but there again, they are obliged by the faceless ones to implement rules which to the ordinary fan, seem petty (not allowed to celebrate a goal) and even stupid, like the 'offside' saga. But tonight, for me, the referee plumbed the depths of irresponsibility. As the weather worsened, he lacked the courage to terminate the game accordingly. In failing to do so, by implication:- he must have considered that there was no danger of injury to the players, he must have been satisfied that all lines were clear and that the game could proceed in the normal manner. If the game hadn't been on Sky, would there have been a different outcome? Did the fact that the 'home' team were winning 3-0 weigh against abandonment? To take the players off for ten minutes in the second half – and then return, was diabolical. I don't for a moment begrudge Ipswich their 'victory'. They adapted to the conditions far better than we did. We never looked like scoring anyway. The game should never have started. The pitch according to Ian Stringer was rock hard. Contrast this with those times when grounds are watered just before a game and again at half- time. In my opinion, this farcical game, this 'advert' for English football, which was broadcast worldwide, should never have happened. And to hear certain people eulogising about who played best and stood out etc. etc was to my mind sickening. We finished with ten men - Vitor with a pulled hamstring, Gallagher and Kirkland injured and 500 fans having to make their way home in deteriorating weather conditions and falling temperatures. The game rivalled the national lottery for 'chance'. In reality, the game was a farce that wasn't funny, a 'black'(or should that be 'white'?) pantomime! And why, because the ref bottled it.
Salieri Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 People should really stop moaning, if the scoreline was the other way and the ref called it off it'd be fucking meltdown on here. I have sympathy for the fans who attended the game, but we were shit and deserved to lose, get over it.
breadandcheese Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 People should really stop moaning, if the scoreline was the other way and the ref called it off it'd be fucking meltdown on here. That's just not true. I would have the same opinion of the state of the pitch if we were winning or losing.
STUHILL Posted 18 December 2010 Posted 18 December 2010 The scoreline is irrelevant really but obviously played a key part in the referee's decision. No one can deny that if it had have stayed 0-0 at half-time then the referee would have called it off. I'm not using the snow as an excuse for us losing 3-0 but there is no doubt that yes it should have been called off and never actually kicked-off. Unfortunately though a notoriously poor referee made a bad call and once they were 3-0 up, there was too much pressure for him to call it off and as Sven said, we had to endure a game that didn't resemble Football and was potentially dangerous. Typical Leicester result though and we will probably go and beat high flying Leeds 4-0 on Boxing day now! Ohhh the roller coaster!!!!
Guest bennytwohats Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 I don't think the game should have been played. I think this much is pretty obvious to anyone who saw the conditions, ref has dropped the ball there imo. That said, given the fact that he started the game it would have been an absolute injustice for him to call it off with 60 minutes gone and us 3-0 down. If the pitch was good enough to get to that point and let a team establish a lead, the it was good enough to finish with less than half the game to go. Of course i wanted ti to be called off because we were 3- down, but i think justice prevailed here. Game should have never taken place though.
Jordan Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 The game kicked off at 12:20 pm my time. I spent all morning hoping the game would be played; I spent all afternoon hoping the game would be abandoned!
Guest DavidJCW Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Should it have been played? Probably not. Should it have been abandoned half-way? Yes, I think it probably should. Did we even deserve to have a chance of getting something from the game after the first half? No. In the end, justice was done as we were shocking... as usual away from home.
Jax Demon Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Maybe should have been called off. Tbh if it was that bad the players should have complained more to the ref about it and maybe took a stand against the decision to carry on. In regards to Ipswich winning 3-0 that scoreline is flattering for a side in their current position if it was on a dry pitch and normal Saturday I think we all know Leicester would have played better and maybe won. Cue Roy Keane hiring people to put fake snow on the pitch now so his players can play better more often
Ozwin Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 People saying that Ipswich adapted better than us are being silly, they weren't great, they were just as sloppy and crap as us but they just got 3 lucky goals. I'm not saying we deserved anything but if you can give a proper analysis on that 'football match' then you're a bloody genius in my book. It was a mess of epic proportions and it was made worse by Sky's constant rimming of Ipswich, you'd think we were the sole reason for the snowfall the way they were rooting for them.
Dan Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Should've never ever kicked off. If Ipswich clearly don't have undersoil heating, the temperature is below 0 and there's a 99% chance of heavy snow, then it was always going to happen. Just the luck of ours that we were 3-0 down (our fault) and it was on Sky. Should have never even started, called off in the morning.
Haydos Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 People should really stop moaning, if the scoreline was the other way and the ref called it off it'd be fucking meltdown on here. I can honestly say I would have had no complaints about it being called off if it was at any point before the ridiculous break in the second half. After that, different story, but if he'd have done it beforehand, 20 mins in, half time or after 55 mins then fine. I WOULD have bemoaned our luck and a lot of 'bloomin typical's would have been chucked about but you cannot argue it was a joke of a decision.
