JamesLCFC Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Just wondering what people thought with only a few days left what signings can be realisticly made in 2011 january transfer window. I think we have a chance with kyle naughton, Roman Bednar. What you think?
TuptonFox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 we have a definite chance of Bednar or Kirkland cos neither wanna go back to parent clubs, love Naughton too though think hes realistic in dome ways.
JamesLCFC Posted 26 December 2010 Author Posted 26 December 2010 Dont think bednar or kirkland have shown that we'd want to sign them, like they have performed really, like kirkland today for 1st goal . Naughton would be brilliant he's easily to good for this league!
Dylan Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Most chance of getting Bednar- but he's the player we want least out of the 5. Naughton is the player we want most, but the least chance of getting out of the 5. Hope we secure Naughton for after Jan, even if its only on loan till the end of the season. Putting Neilson/Lamey back at RB after Naughton would be a step backwards.
bluebeau Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I hope we don't sign Bednar. I haven't been at all impressed with him so far.

Putting Neilson/Lamey back at RB after Naughton would be a step backwards. We have a good chance of getting Naughton. He has said he wants to stay here, he will be the 4th or 5th best RB at Spurs, so they are willing to listen to offers. Naughton is a great player, hes brilliant going forward, finally we have a wing back with pace that can make runs, put crosses in and score goals.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 No idea who is the most realistic because im not a mover or a shaker in the world of football. I'm most keen on Naughton and Cunningham though.
samjohnson Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Most Leicester fans want Naughton. Bednar wants to stay as he now hates WBA - But he's no better than Howard with glue on his feet and 3 pints of ale in his system from what we've seen of him as a Leicester player

Putting Neilson/Lamey back at RB after Naughton would be a step backwards. Davies isnt gonna come here permenantly(sp?) so he is surely the least likely. i think Naughton would like to stay here to be fair. Like has been said before his 1st team options at Spurs are very limited and unless another prem team comes in for him then i think we have a good chance.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Davies will go in my opinion. I doubt we'll buy Bednar. Kirkland needs to improve and is very injury prone, although on his day he is one of Englands top keepers. Naughton is brilliant, we have to get him. Cunningham is ok, but could improve, maybe he will in the future.
Jackirius Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Davies will go to another prem team. Naughton wont be sold by spurs. Man City rate Cunningham very highly and will be looking for him to get close to their first team in a few years. Chris Kirkland, nice guy but past it. Bednar, looked shit so far, would be the most likely though. I think we would be best investing in a quality midfielder (Hoolahan, Wittingham (sp?) styley) and a prolific goalscorer from abroad (Tychoi, Gyan styley, big strong and can hit the back of a net) and maybe a new keeper.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Jack, Spurs will sell Naughton Hes like their 5th choice right back, he wants to move to get first team football. I can genuinely see him coming here.

Leicester_Loyal Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I suppose but spurs have always rated him very highly so it might be a pretty hefty tag. I read 1.5million the other day, think it was in The Mirror. Spurs need world class players now, they are competing for the title this season. They won't win it, but they won't be too far off.
MOT Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Adam hammill and ricky lambert would do Hammill will go to a Premiership side in January or summer. One of best players i've seen this year, and I think he has a clause in his contract that he can leave for a Prem side.
ibbosuk Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 These are loan targets who are already here, so obviously they are realistic, we should be talking people like Heskey & Robbie keane....

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I don't think a move for Naughton or Cunningham would be impossible. £1.5 / £2 million for each.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Naughton definately for me - realistic, he seems to enjoy playing for LEICESTER and would be a great permanent signing.
Jackirius Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Michael Owen will sign on January 4th until end of season, with one year deal to follow linked to appearances. He has already been looking at property in Burton on the Wolds and Walton. Bullshit Football Rumours rumour. Players in: Michael owen (Loan) David Bentley (3M) Curtis Davies (Extended loan/ end of season) Kyle Naughton (2M) James Vaughan (2M) Tamir Choen (4M) Players Out: Matty Fryatt (1.5M/3M) Bruno Berner (800k) Matt Oakley (1M) Another BS Rumour
Sylvie85 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Whose paying us 1 million for oakley? I'll get the car warmed up and drive him now!!
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I can't see us buying anyone in this window. There's hardly ever a big money move in January. Just don't see it happening. Extendable loans, yes. But that's it imo.
AaronH Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Isn't bruno meant to be leaving on a free and 1m for oakley you have to feel sorry for them. That post has tht dodgy transfer rumors site all over it
