sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Great win yesterday, a terrible shame about Cunningham. Everyone wishes him the best in his receovery, both physically, and no doubt mentally. Any time to have this happen in a footballers career is awful, but certainly now will be a great setback. I hope he gets the help he needs. Not all players recover to their best after such an injury. We now sit in the January transfer window and have already scooped up two players. Both of which are being discussed on their merits and questionable abilities. I have gone to the bother of making a list of potential players who might be available in the Prem with handy wiki-links to access their info. Would be good to see what your thoughts might be. Please also read the disclaimer. I do not think we have the possibility of signing all of the them, I attempted to make the list as all conclusive as possible. It's not a personal list. So if I've left anyone out then let me know. Scouting for Goals Bring on the Swans!

sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2011 Author Posted 2 January 2011 Nice list hope we DO land a couple- namely Given , Woodgate and wouldnt mind MAcheda Good work man Cheers, it's not my list. Just a list I compiled from players not currently getting 1st team action from Prem teams. I don't know if any of them are possible. But it would be good to get someone off there.
sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2011 Author Posted 2 January 2011 I'll be putting up the most clicked player wiki-links and then put it to a vote. Not a scientific approach, but worth a shot.
Jon the Hat Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 The problem is those are all players who would also improve a lot of Prem teams...
sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2011 Author Posted 2 January 2011 The problem is those are all players who would also improve a lot of Prem teams... Hey Jon, don't get me wrong most would, but if Sven has got his hat on, then there's a possibility that we could acquire one or two on that list. I don't think it's improbable or impossible either. I won't spoil the results, but there are two leading the pack in numbers of clicks, but I'll pull 5 together for the proper vote later.

SPF07 Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Nice Post. Although, to use your quote 'pie in the sky' is absolutely correct for at least 60% of these players. Some of these players would be quality additions, but i do believe that rather than minimising our search to 'big names' currently playing 2nd string in the prem, their is quality in this league that with our supposed funds we could aquire. Most notably, DANNY GRAHAM! Scoring record is very good (consistant) and team ethic / work rate is brilliant. On top of this Watford have vocally expressed in the press that they would struggle financially to turn down a sizeable offer for any player. Somewhere in the region of £2.5 m, could be enough to pursuade them. Any thoughts?

Well, I avoided the sticky area of CCC players, as the list I've compiled of Prem players just not getting into the 1st team, could do a job for us, or are already available on loan. The CCC list would be much longer than this one, and has too many ifs and buts, as outside of the player mentioned, there are numerous examples that we could easily afford, but might not be sold to a rival in the league etc. But Danny Graham is a good shout and is doing extremely well. Who knows what's on Sven's real list.
sphericalfox Posted 2 January 2011 Author Posted 2 January 2011 Results for this evening are in. I've put the top five on the blog ready for your vote! Scouting for Goals Poll
sphericalfox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 The results are in from the vote! The highest five viewed players (and I know this wasn't a very scientific method) were(in no particular order): Xisco Jordy Brouwer Federico Macheda Kyle Walker Anders Lindegaard Well the vote has been tallied and it's clear who the winner was really from the start: Federico Macheda Kyle Walker came a distant second in the vote. Thank you for those got involved.

Salieri Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Danny Graham's a good shout!!......... I'm sure Ozwin may have suggested him, could be wrong.
sphericalfox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 We should go for Charlie Austin of Swindon Town. It's another good shout but this was all about potential Prem players available, as I've explained in the article the difficulties of trying to have a list of both CCC and Prem.
