The Year Of The Fox Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2269179,00.html Yakubu says he ' already loves our chants' Any idea those who went Preston which chants he's reffereing to? ANy in particular?
Jodranadinho Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 well the loudest was definitely 'feed the yak' when we scored, but i'd say the best one on the day was to the darts tune : der der der der der der der der der YA KOO BOO
SMX11 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 well the loudest was definitely 'feed the yak' when we scored, but i'd say the best one on the day was to the darts tune : der der der der der der der der der YA KOO BOO Thats quite good actually.
lcfcadam Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Yeah, the "Feed the Yak!" chant just after he scored was one of the loudest things I've ever heard at a football ground, sounded great. Doubt he'd have been able to hear the darts one cos only a few people took it up, but it was pretty inspired. On another note, although Bamba certainly didn't have a game like the one against Man City it was great to feel and hear everyone getting excited every time we had a corner or set piece, and singing his name literally every time he went near the ball. Regardless of whether he "deserves" it or not after just a couple of games, it is brilliant that the fans are actually genuinely behind their players again to a certain extent. That feels like something we haven't had for quite a while...

I can hardly remember Posh away last season, was a bit of a blur! That London Road away end has to be one of the best though for me, kinda hope they don't get ever promoted and stay in the champo or they'll be forced to upgrade it...

lcfcadam Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Rebuilding it with exec boxes I think. Sad to see it go. Just read the newspaper info about that. Looks like they want it rebuilt by 2012, though hopefully the delays that have hampered redevelopment there in the past will mean it stays for a bit longer...
Guest Mee-9 Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 If anyones intrested. First about 10 seconds. Mental. Not filmed by me. I was next to the lad filming I think. Swear im on that video.Yep. Its me.
Tommeh Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 I'll take 1/4 of the credit as one of the starters of the darts one pre-match. Singing it at 4am in the streets of Manchester was even sweeter. YA - KU - BU

Wilkesy Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Yeah cheers. You were banging on about getting the darts chant going for days before this game. And fair play for getting it going on saturday. Feed the YAK - needs to be sang when he scores. Darts chant all of the other time surely?
ajthefox Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 Nice to see he acknowledged our chanting, makes it even more worth going home with a sore throat.
AmyLGK Posted 17 January 2011 Posted 17 January 2011 When we sang "Feed the Yak and he will score" after he scored I had goosebumps - it was the loudest thing I'd ever heard at a football ground and was amazing to be a part of! Filthy night in Sankeys you say!?!?! Oh how I miss them days Nice to see he acknowledged our chanting, makes it even more worth going home with a sore throat. I couldn't speak when I woke up the next morning
MikeyT Posted 24 January 2011 Posted 24 January 2011 Didn't want to start another Yakubu thread so posting it here...from SSN: Leicester City loan star Yakubu Aiyegbeni insists he has not brought a Premier League ego to the Walkers Stadium. Foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson pulled off a major coup this month after landing the Everton striker on loan. The Nigerian hit-man, who has also played for Portsmouth and Middlesbrough, has made an instant impression with the Championship club. Yakubu's goal in Leicester's 4-2 weekend win over Millwall was his second in two games for his new club. Team spirit However, the 28-year-old insists he is not lording it over his team-mates as team spirit is crucial to the team's lofty aspirations. "I don't think of myself as someone who has come straight from the Premier League. Big star? No," said Yakubu. "It doesn't matter how big you are as a player, you have to stick together as a team."
