Since Sousa

Shit happens, what do you expect a 100% record? Even the top teams in this league will throw away points, Man City have spent £400m and will throw away points.

Well transfer wise Sousa has actually spent more on players, had he not wasted so much on complete and utter rubbish he could have got a couple of quality players in. And the reason Sven gets backing and support is because he can actually win games, unlike Sousa.

What a pile of shit, the team he was left by Pearson even after loan departures were good enough to be mid table in this league at the very least. They proved that the season before.

I've said in the past that it wasn't an easy job as the players were on a downer, but I'm sorry the guy was completely clueless and that just compounded the problem. Bottom of the form table with him here, top without him.... and you say I make excuses for managers!!!!

A fair chance? Speak to fox blogger about the task left him, I think i'm correct in saying we'd be doing something no other team has ever done if we make it into the playoff from where we were.

Blaming him for what? Being bottom when he was here? Of course I blame him. Who do you blame, the players? Because you sure as shit don't seem to be blaming them for shipping a last minute goal... that's all Sven's fault apparently.

So that's basically:

a) You agree ( that Sven's thrown some points away).

b) You agree (that Sven's had more support).

c) You agree Pearson's team would achieve sod all (mid table and being down after the play-off disappointments)

d) Agree (but Sousa should have coped better).

e) Disagree, though the points available to Sven since his arrival - and the massive advantage he's got over others in funding a winning team - seem to say the opposite to me.

f) Agree (whether we disagree about the reasons or not).

Funny - it doesn't come over that way! lol

Strikes me too that if Sousa lost a game it was his fault and if Sven loses a game it's the players' fault.

And if we win promotion it will be down to Sven but if we fail it'll all be Sousa's fault. Believe it by all means Babs but you and I know it ain't the full story and the sooner we all stop knocking a guy who was nothing more than a victim the better.

And no this isn't any sort of attack on Sven - just an attempt to stop someone being needlessly kicked when they';re down.

As far as Sven is concerned I've happily put a few bob on his getting us up - cos I've every faith he's still got enough points to go for, whatever Sousa did or didn't do.

I think Sven's great and Sousa was terrible. It almost goes without saying.

However, this is not a "form" table. It just gets updated on here/Bentley's whenever we're top of it.

I thought it was laughable the nonsense that Paulo Sousa was speaking this week in the paper about him being able to turn Leicester around this season. The only way we were going under him was down.

Fair enough, he didn't have the money and support that Sven has today. However that had nothing to do with the fact that the players were not prepared in pre-season properly. They certainly weren't fit at all. His lethargic attitude also just didn't transfer accross to the players or fans, who were used to Nigel Pearson and his "military" style approach to the game and the media. An example of this lethargic approach would be the Macclesfield cup match when Sousa stood there in a pair of jeans and a shirt, looking more like he was going the pub than managing a football team!

I don't think anyone will forgive him either for looking like he was laughing when we were being humiliated by Portsmouth on tv and then saying he was proud of his players performance!

I think the most significant thing to happen since Sousa has been the departure of Milan Mandaric. Yes he lifted our club away from a second administration and I am greatful for that. However his evident medalling behind the scenes will not be missed by me and his sometimes shocking managerial appointments, e.g Allen, Megson, Sousa also. I think it is interesting to see how long Alan Irvine gets at Shef Wed before he is removed.

I honestly believe that we can make the playoffs under Sven this season. I also think that 72 points will be enough to get 6th spot. That's another 33 points from 18 games. 10 wins from that is very possible with our home record and 3 draws thrown in.

If we keep up the form that we have been showing under sven we will get up to 73 points, which is 1 point off last season, however its a big ask to keep up this form, but i cannot see a reason to why we cant. Sven doesnt get carried away with the money hes got at his disposal like o thought he would, which is good and all of his signings have beem excellent. The irony about sousas era is that we played our best football under him, but we missed too many chances and werent clinical enough.

I think the important thing to consider at the minute is that, yes we're still a way away from achieving a playoff place, but the potential is there, especially given our home form.

It's worrying to think that we've still got to go away to 4 of the top 8 given we can't seem to win games away from home, but on the other side of that, we still play 4 of the bottom 5 as well as 3 of our nearest playoff rivals in Norwich, Burnley and Watford.

It'll be tight and whilst we're currently outsiders, looking at it in those terms suggests if we continue ploughing through teams at home, it's more than do-able.

We took 8 points from the first 10 games. In the 3 points for a win era no side has ever been promoted having made such a derisory start. City will be making history if they make it up this season.

You're definitely right, the only fair conclusion from the last few seasons is that Pearson was awful, Sven is alright and Sousa was awesome. What are you on?!

Thats a good shout..providing we keep going as we are at home and start picking up points away from home (i know its an IF)...these games against other contenders are going to be biguns!..cant wait..bring it on baby!!

I've just changed my avatar to more accurately reflect my carefully considered strategic approach to the whole can we cant we debate

Sousa sucked. For the record, I thought we were hasty at the time, however, now I think we should have changed sooner.

This is exactly how I saw it......give him a chance I thought..:frusty: how could i have been so stupid

a) no, I believe that it's football. You can't win every game.

b) I agree he's had support, in that he hasn't been sacked... but that's because he doesn't look out of his depth and that he's winning games.

c) No I don't agree they would do sod all, I said the team was good enough than being bottom. Even with the playoff heart ache they are good enough to not be bottom.

It's not all about Sven and it's not all about Sousa. But the facts are Sousa had a good enough squad, and bought enough new players to not have us bottom of the league.
