:whistle:according to that we have gained 8pts on qpr since sven... if we gain another 8 in our remaining 18 we will be very close to 2nd...

win 13/18 given 10 are at home we will finish on 78pts...

lets hope our good form continues :scarf:

Problem is over 19 games we are still only 3/4 points better off that all the others in the promotion / playoff frame. Over the next 18 games we have to be 6 or 7 points better than them. It really would be a huge achievement to make it in to the playoffs. If only we had Sven at the start :(

With a number of teams having games in hand we probably have to look at Swansea in 4th (p28 47 pts). Thus we need to catch up 8 points to make the playoffs. To get 76 points, which is the figure that took us into the playoffs last season, we need 37 points. That could look like

p 18 win 11 draw 4 lose 3 =

given we've taken 34 points from the last 19, it's far from impossible. Very hard, but we certainly have a chance

Sven's thrown enough points away on his own watch - including Bristol City away, those two at Preston just recently and the day he chose not to play at all against Ipswich without somehow shifting blame to a predecessor who had next to no money, backing or support.

Where would, say, six points from those three games have left us? Or even the point we really should have collected at Watford? We'd only have got more points earlier in the season if the owners had backed whoever was in charge in the same way they've backed Sven. Pearson's team would have achieved sod all.

Many of them were noticeably shell-shocked from the play-off disapointment and Sousa just became their victim. There's less and less left of the Pearson legacy by the week. But there were plenty left to grumble in the background while Sousa was in notional charge and nothing he could easily do about it. Sousa tried hard to make us play exactly like Sven is doing now. Except he had to use mosonite instead of diamonds.

We're not out of the promotion race yet although I agree it will be a significant achievement given the handicaps we've given ourselves. But Sven will have had a fair chance to succeed in the matches he's been in charge without harping back to the silly season. And if we have faith in the sort of attacking we produced today there's still no real reason we shouldn't sneak a look in.

The question is will Sven show the faith to attack on his travels? Cos his away record looks awful even with the money he's spent - unless that is somehow Sousa's fault too.

Tbf Thrac it's not Sven who's blaming Sousa it's us, the fans.

The impression I got was that Babs was blaming Sousa - and I've always regarded him as a bit more fair-minded than that, especially where managers are concerned! lol

I've had a bottle or 2 of el vino but i've just bet 50 quid @ 25-1 on us to win the championship.

I know we've played more games, but, when we play we are actually really good. IF is the word. IF we string a few wins we can really close the gap. There is no better team in this league than us. Of that I am adamant. Unfortunately we gave everyone a head start but Sven is good enough to turn that over

Come on City!!!

True but now we have The Yak and Sol Bamba!

Plus the team is really starting to gel together nicely and for the first time in what feels like forever we have a starting eleven that pretty much picks itself apart from the centre back pairing and the alternation of Dyer and Gally. I still believe we can make the play-offs and that is largely because I can tell that the players definitely still believe it too.

What a nob that Sousa bloke was.

What makes you think that the Thais were any less behind Sousa than they are behind Sven? Besides, you can't explain away the fact that not a single Sousa signing is in our starting eleven (given that he has now admitted Top was the man behind the Yuki deal).

Just shows how far we have already come under sven. And we will be going to Wembley if we keep playing like we did today

Sven has got them all working together as a team again

Glad we got rid of Sousa or other wise we would be straight back in league 1,

Sven Great manager, he has done brilliant for us, I think play-offs here we come.

Come on you foxes!!

My positive spin on that would be that for the next 18 games we should have a lot better side than the one that played the last 18.

Shit happens, what do you expect a 100% record? Even the top teams in this league will throw away points, Man City have spent £400m and will throw away points.

who had next to no money, backing or support.

Well transfer wise Sousa has actually spent more on players, had he not wasted so much on complete and utter rubbish he could have got a couple of quality players in. And the reason Sven gets backing and support is because he can actually win games, unlike Sousa.

We'd only have got more points earlier in the season if the owners had backed whoever was in charge in the same way they've backed Sven. Pearson's team would have achieved sod all.

What a pile of shit, the team he was left by Pearson even after loan departures were good enough to be mid table in this league at the very least. They proved that the season before.

Many of them were noticeably shell-shocked from the play-off disapointment and Sousa just became their victim.

I've said in the past that it wasn't an easy job as the players were on a downer, but I'm sorry the guy was completely clueless and that just compounded the problem. Bottom of the form table with him here, top without him.... and you say I make excuses for managers!!!!

But Sven will have had a fair chance to succeed in the matches he's been in charge without harping back to the silly season.

A fair chance? Speak to fox blogger about the task left him, I think i'm correct in saying we'd be doing something no other team has ever done if we make it into the playoff from where we were.

The impression I got was that Babs was blaming Sousa - and I've always regarded him as a bit more fair-minded than that, especially where managers are concerned! lol

Blaming him for what? Being bottom when he was here? Of course I blame him. Who do you blame, the players? Because you sure as shit don't seem to be blaming them for shipping a last minute goal... that's all Sven's fault apparently.

You're definitely right, the only fair conclusion from the last few seasons is that Pearson was awful, Sven is alright and Sousa was awesome. What are you on?!

Sousa sucked. For the record, I thought we were hasty at the time, however, now I think we should have changed sooner.

To be honest I thought we were hasty in bringing him in, it seemed as though before Pearson had even left Sousa was in.
