I really don't want to put a downer on our briliant roll at the moment, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.... just yet. Yeh we're one point off the playoffs and four behind second

The first half against Derby was quality. The second half, some defined it on here as us 'shutting up shop' IMO thats a load of bollocks. Derby were just better side and we didn't get a look in.

Last night we were let out of jail with a Waghorn belter- Noone can be more pleased for the bloke than me. But we didn't deserve the three points. Yes its a sign of promotion form, but we have some huge games coming up. The next four in a row are massive. If we play like we did last night on Tuesday we'll get hammered. If we can come out the four games with 10 points then I'll be a bit more confident. But even after that we've still got Forest away which could either be a clincher for a promotion spot, or indeed for 2nd place, or could be a nothing game for us. To say nothing of games like Boro away who are fighting to stay in the league right now. Every game is a cup final- and has been perhaps since Sheff Utd. If I had to make any prediction now then I reckon the wheels will end up falling off staring on Tuesday. I will not believe anything until the final whistle on the last day of the season.

I wasn't happy when Ricardo signed either. He flapped at Derby, and couldn't have caught a cold yesterday. So for me, Weale has to come back. Thought Oakley was really good against Direby, but very poor last night. So for me I'd start with Dyer. We were crying out for him in the second half yesterday and thankfully Sven agreed and stuck him on. I'd also drop Vassell- not the first time I've said that. He just goes missing though I know he prefers playing down the middle.

Just had to write this, after reading all the other threads about how we're after second place and the playoffs are 'a certainty' now.

Cue all the 'dont be so pessimistic' replies

EDIT-This is taken off another thread..

Personally I think alot of it was down to overconfidence and arrogance. It's a good quality to have when you're 3 or 4 goals up, but at one-nil, starting to play the flicks and the ole football was really unprofessional

The bloke who put this is dead right. I reckon their arrogance comes from us in some respects

When was the last time we won five games in a row? We were bottom of the league four months ago. To be fair I think we're entitled to get a little ahead of ourselves. Since Sven took over, on the whole, we've been outstanding.

Last season before the play off semis.

I see exactly where you're coming from mate. You're right, it's not all sunshine and rainbows just yet, especially with some inconsistent performances against what some would call "lesser" teams. However I'm pretty optimistic we'll reach the play off's. And is it just me, or do we seem to play better against better clubs in the division? I dunno, I just worry a lot more when we face a team on a bad run of form than I do when we face a team that isn't.

Errrmmm... 10 points out of a possible 12 when our opponents are 2nd placed Cardiff, a shit Coventry side, top-of-the-table QPR and 3rd placed Norwich would only leave you "a bit more confident"?? Absolute nonsense. If we nail 10 points out of a possible 12 from that mini-run would, in my honest opinion, make us favourites to go up. It'd be a monumental effort to take 3 wins and a draw from that lot especially considering 2 are away. Our next 4 are much more difficult than the next for of the rest of the top 6, so if we're still right on the tails of everyone after that, we're well in.

Don't be so pessimistic.

Agreed, if we take 10 from the next 12 we'll be favourites for automatic.

To be honest I'd be pretty pleased with 6 or 7 from the next four games.

The important thing is that the wheels don't come off in the next four games - we only need look at Watford to see what can happen when a good run comes to an end

Indeed, it was away at Cardiff where their seven game winning run was ended. 3-0 down after half an hour, they nearly fought back to 3-3 but couldn't quite manage it. Since then they've barely had a point, in large part due to some tricky fixtures.

In much the same way, we have a number of difficult games in a row now, and it is important that when the inevitable setback comes in the next month, the players put it behind them and go out and win the next game, and that nobody panics.

It's a sign of a good team when you can play shit and win. A win is a win and we've won 7 in the last 10 games, so until we start losing more than we should I don't really care.

Edit: When I say play shit I'm not talking about ugly football or longball or anything like that. I mean a poor performance by our standards and not style of play so please don't think I'm saying I don't care how we play as long as we win.

We are doing something, we're top of the form table and we're not 24th in the Championship any more.

For god's sake just enjoy it and stop being so pessimistic.

I would imagine similar stuff is being written by a fan or two on forums for every team in or chasing a top six place?

Don't you think they've finished games thinking how the fook did we get 3 points from that shit performance, how many times for instance have Norwich scored late points winning goals?

Hiccups in performances happen to all teams, didn't Forest just lose to S****horpe?

Yes we've not got a guaranteed top six place but then neither have the other teams.

If you can't be optimistic, and I'm an in grained pessimist as a result of our current form then you can never be onedunno.gif

Why? Yes those games are against teams around us, but does that mean the other 11 games will be easy wins??

Didnt Forest get a point away to QPR on Sunday with 10 men??

And who did they play on Wednesday night and what was the score?

To say we've 'done nothing yet' is farcical and pathetic.

Do you not remember where we were when Sven too over? Yes, we were bottom, 24th place. 5 points.

Where are we now? 7th. one point of the play-offs.

I bet you won't be happy if we got automatic would you? Sounds like you'd only settle for first place and anything below is a failure.

Get a grip and live for the moment!

That bit about Derby is bollocks, we definitely protected the lead, there's no way in hell they made us play like that.

Totally agree. Derby were/are shite. Bristol are twice the team they are, and based on last night performance from Bristol, if thats 6 points off of relegation zone - Derby are in the shit

Is it? Do teams winning 2-0 at half time then go out for the second half and attempt not to have a shot on goal?? If so, then yeh our plan worked.

I do think some on here are seriously deluded. We ain't Man Utd

Sorry for having an opinion. We've only clawed oursleves back to where we shouldv'e been anyway. Yes that is a huge achievement for Sven, but it shouldn't have been necessary

I never said the other 11 would be "easy wins", so don't attribute that to me. All I said was that I think we'd be favourites to go up if that was our points haul. That CLEARLY does NOT mean I think we will win our next 11 games. Or remain unbeaten. I haven't even said that I think we'll be getting 10 points from those 4 games!

Congratulations, you've trotted out the "oh, anyone can beat anyone in this league" mantra. Well done. I'm well aware of that though, thanks. The fact is - and it's a point you've acknowledged in your own response to me no less - by taking 10 points from our next 12, we'll be taking points off of the teams immediately around us when we're already close to them - meaning we'll be further catching them all the time and potentially send them into a downward spiral.

As it happens, I agree with ttfn.

We are Man United compared to Derby at the moment. We'd done all the work by half time and second half we took it easy, anyone could see that.

So last season we got into the play off semi's...and set ourselves REALLY high standards for this season. Last seasons team worked under NP because he'd built it, and somehow got the best out of us. In this league though, who's to say its anybodys devine right to be anywhere? After the start we've had we should be boucing off the ceiling for how much fo a turn around we've had, and even if we don't go up, look at the season we've had;

New Owners, ex-England manager is our manager, The Yak, Sol Bamba, the progression of Andy King, being linked with Beckham, Owen, Santa Cruz - no matter HOW bizarre and farfetched these are; this is what makes being a Leicester fan.

Yes, we're not "promoted" yet but, if we allow ourselves to be optimistic, and dream a little - just imagine how amazing it would be to go up in 2nd...and Forest losing in the play-off final :P

Some fair points but for godsake can't some people just enjoy winning some games ?

2nd half against Derby was a great defensive perfomance. We dug in and got the result and that's what matters surely ? Do you honestly expect us to go away from home and dominate teams for 90 mins ? Not gonna happen.

Also think its unfair to single out Oakley and Ricardo from last night. Bar Bamba, Mee (apart from his distribution) and Naughton the rest of the team were crap, as was Dyer when he came on.

JUST BE HAPPY, we're winning and moving up the league !! :scarf:

No you haven't said that, but my point was there are still 11 games left after the next four. Each game is as important as the next regardless of who/where they are.

And you obviously missed my point about Forest. They took a great point away frm Loftus Rd, and being with 10 men, its a similar sort of victory ( iknow they drew but it must have felt like 3 points) you would associate with promotion hopefuls. BUT that hard earned point with 10men was made worthless by losing on Wednesday night
