Failing that, there's an indoor 4 a side thing at Freemans Common.

And amazingly, it isn't as lame as it sounds.

I looked at that it didn't seem to be for hire for one off events

They seem to be open to the public, one of the gates for each of the two pitches are permanently unlocked - owned by the football foundation and they ask that you get authorisation before using the pitches.

No-one there to check though and you could probably get away with using them without authorisation.

You're correct it's not bookable you just turn up and use it, we'd have to take the chance that no one was using it when we got there or invite anyone there to join us.

There's options at Judgemeadow and New College in New Parks.

If your strugglig for a place to play Brockington College have a 3G pitch, could maybe try them.

Is that in Enderby? Problem is can people get there?

Isn't there an indoor football arena near the Walker's Stadium? I remember playing there when I was younger for a birthday party, and then walking to the game afterwards!

Do you mean the one which is only walking distance from Morrison's? That's quite a popular one, if that's the one your on about.

''Sports Leagues Leicester'' its called. Fairly big area. Its on Freeman's Common (16 Commercial Square)

Don't know if this helps? :dunno:

Yeah, that's the place. Got a bus stop outside which means public transport is easy. 3 separate 6-a-side pitches as well. Dunno how much it costs but shouldn't be to much.

Interesting, we used it for a work tournament the other week... :/

So what's wrong with St.Mags again?

Saturday event would require people to be there by 8.45 or 'normal' time, 1045 on a Sunday.

So an early start or possible transport problems.

I'm leaning towards Sunday July 9th at St Margarets

8:45!

10:45 - of course but 8:45 is too early to be doing anything on a saturday.

Hmmmmm - factor in the two and half hour trip (probably should give an extra 30 mins getting lost time as well) and the need to get up at least half an hour beforehand to get ready - that would mean setting the alarm for 5ish... yeah I'm still game!
