that's a good point actually dj barry hammond - i play goalkeeper as well, just to warn you though, i deal with crosses like ricardo (although that doesn't matter here) and the general shot-stopping ability of jim leighton.

If you can't catch or stop shots, what are you doing playing in goal?

Maybe he has an irrational fear of antelopes?

 Antelopes?

anyway i can catch, i just prefer to punch and shot-stopping - it's actually not that bad, i just make a few too many howlers.

Have contacted St Margaret's and it's either Saturday 9th July from 9-12 or Sunday.

Can people let me know if they prefer the Saturday morning or should we change to a Sunday?

Why do these things always turnout to be so complicated?

Could we play this on a local park somehow, ok goal posts and balls disappearing across the park maybe a problem but at least we could play when we wanted and for freedunno.gif

We could just half (halve?) the pitches at Viccy Park maybe? Although personally i preferred the small goals etc.

There's loads of other astroturf pitches with multiple 5-a-side pitches in Leicester surely? Theres one at Groby College for certain.

Can people get to them?

If people were catching buses to St mags itd just be another bus out again for most places i imagine. And those who were driving would be fine anyway surely.

Saying that im coming from Hertfordshire and am not bothered where it is.

There are a couple of 5-a-side astroturf pitches on viccy park - up near DeMont hall.

Open to the public (or they were last year at least, not sure about now but it'd be easy for me to check).

A few years back after walking past them, i saw a few chavs with their hoodies on in there...

Thanks I'll await your feedback.

Thatd be ideally placed for the pub as well.

That'll do whether there's a pitch there or not then thumbsup.gif

They seem to be open to the public, one of the gates for each of the two pitches are permanently unlocked - owned by the football foundation and they ask that you get authorisation before using the pitches.

No-one there to check though and you could probably get away with using them without authorisation.

Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can find out who you book through as I don't want to go to all the trouble of organising it and then find we can't use them.
